Please don't jinx it. Idk what happened last night whether the sucked because they wanted to play the Predators in the 1st round or they just fell apart. Whatever it was, it put us one step back from the Presidents Trophy.

My playoff 1st round matchup predictions:
CAR v NSH (already decided)
TBL v FLA (already decided the battle of florida)
PIT v NYI (2019 flashbacks)
WSH v BOS (always a good one)
VGK v STL (should be interesting)
COL v MIN (could form a new rivalry here)
TOR v MTL (classic)
EDM v WPG (Should be a fun one)

Pretty much what the standings are right now, I don't expect much to change.

Lol, with our current injuries we aren’t making it past game 5, maybe 6, the narratives around the Leafs will die this year ( except the no cup for 50 years )

Sounds like Torts and the Blue Jackets have parted ways. He won't be returning as their coach next season. Good for the Blue Jackets.

Leafs are defiantly favoured. But there's an upset like that ever year. Pittsburg vs NYI seems like the one with the most upset potential though.

Yeah, Trotz is great at the helm of playoff teams, that’s an upset I could see. For the Habs to win we’d need Gallagher, Price, Danault and others back and a lot of luck

Call me crazy but just to throw a hot take out there, Vegas could potentially get upset in the 1st round. I think they're too good to be true though you could say the same about my Canes. I think the Blues could actually surprise a lot of people this year in the playoffs if they play to their fullest potential.

If that’s worthy of a fine, then the NHL is going to be handing out thousands of fines each year. Sure it’s absolutely a penalty, but it happens all the time.

Hand out the fines then. That's a needless and potentially dangerous play, imo. Like imagine his toe picks in the ice as he's falling backwards. I hate those types of injuries and am all for adding an extra deterrent.

Vegas could get upset, the blues certainly have the potential to do that.
Isles could upset as well.
Of course, the canes could get upset, simply due to the fact they look like they will win the presidents trophy.
And the leafs because... well, they're the leafs.

I would not be suprised to see any team get upset. In 2019 all first seeds got upset. Maybe 2021 will be the same (I hope not grimace )

Of course, but unfortunately that’s how the game is played right now. The NHL isn’t going to give a fine to every single slash and cross check. Hell, they don’t even give a 2 minute penalty to every slash or cross check.
