Im hoping this happens after the 21 draft. Theres too many deals that lean on these sweet 21 draft picks, in what could be the worst draft in 20 years. Of course nobody cares about losing these picks.

Quick has too much term and has not been good for a few years. Brown and Maatta offset Eichel's cap number next year. After that it is up to the Kings to figure out their cap. The Sabres keep Eichel unless he asks out. If he asks out coming off of a major injury these are about as good as the returns will get. It would probably be a choice between TurboTax and Byfield. I am not sure I would rather have Byfield.

Maata only has a 3.3mil hit, & idk if that’ll be enough
Quick is the only other big salary (5.9m) without an NTC/NMC
And the term is only 2years
We might have to take him even if we don’t want him

Brown is a modified NTC with only 7 team no trade. Maybe Buffalo is on it but everyone would have assumed that about Staal also and the Sabres weren't on his list

Makes more sense to think we’d be on it than not though
Plus, Brown is still playing pretty well
So I’d guess they’d rather ship out Quick since Petersen is basically their #1 now
