If Matthews, who has the most even strength goals in the league over this year and last year combined doesn't show up for a series, would adding the guy who's 12th make any difference? I don't know. I mean, is it a team sport, or do they have Olympic style shootouts in the playoffs now, so the team with TJ Oshie automatically wins? Given how late Toronto is going to pick, the above is not an overpayment for Jake Vrana. But it is a fair offer, and it still leaves the Caps with eight forwards who have played a year or more in a top six role in the NHL, so they can probably afford to make moves.
i assume a team that has a limited window to win a cup would be willing to give up futures for immediate upgrades that would help them win... just thought it was funny how Vrana is a "3rd liner"
"overpayment" they traded the 13th overall pick to dump a contract
they traded 2 prospects and a 1st for Muzzin.....
they traded Nazem Kadri, Calle Rosen, and a 2020 third-round pick. for Tyson Barrie,Alex Kerfoot, and a 2020 sixth-round pick
then they got a 15oa and prospect for Kappy...but this is too much for Vrana lol
