Description

Mcmichael needs another year in the AHL so 22-23 for him maybe midway next year. Sprong took a step forward imo nowhere near Vrana but he's at cap min and with the uncertainty of the $$ of Ovechkin next deal idk if we could afford Vrana anyway. Hopefully Seattle pick Dillon and then they can move forward with Siegenthaler and Fehérváry on the back end and sign a solid middle 6 guy like Iafallo during FA.

Adding Amirov gives us depth at a position we need to add Depth in

i dont want to trade Vrana.. i think hes a very good player but the Capitals mismanage talent like Bura and Stephenson so i would like to get a solid return for him since it looks like Lav has some sort of issue with him

Faceoffs are generally used for starts, which should have been obvious with how I was using it for Vrana's too. If we look at Vrana's offensive zone starts like you did for Nylander, 74.31%. Wow....he starts in the o-zone 75% of the time yet is a coin flip for scoring chances. It makes it so much worse. No wonder he's only trusted with 3rd line minutes.

Is Vrana the difference? With or without him, the Leafs win off the backs of Matthews, Marner, JT and Rielly. Vrana would help but at the price it would take to get him, I am not sure it really makes sense short or long term.

It's true. Boston has the worst offense of, like, any likely playoff team. But they're in the Caps' division this year and have an aging but skilled Czech center who would be dynamite with Vrana, so it'd take a big overpay to get WSH to think about that.

But it is a fair offer, and it still leaves the Caps with eight forwards who have played a year or more in a top six role in the NHL, so they can probably afford to make moves.

I mean Ovechkin is one of the greatest players of all time. Matthews isn’t. You asked.... Imo Leafs are too easy to defend. Capitals had a similar issue. Notice the points vs Rangers. They need to add bottom 6 scoring to win or figure out how to spectate the elites from the other teams shutdown players.
