Vrana to the Leafs

Description
Mcmichael needs another year in the AHL so 22-23 for him maybe midway next year. Sprong took a step forward imo nowhere near Vrana but he's at cap min and with the uncertainty of the $$ of Ovechkin next deal idk if we could afford Vrana anyway. Hopefully Seattle pick Dillon and then they can move forward with Siegenthaler and Fehérváry on the back end and sign a solid middle 6 guy like Iafallo during FA.

Adding Amirov gives us depth at a position we need to add Depth in

i dont want to trade Vrana.. i think hes a very good player but the Capitals mismanage talent like Bura and Stephenson so i would like to get a solid return for him since it looks like Lav has some sort of issue with him

It would be but then we look at the context of the stats and see Vrana isn't very good on the defensive end of the puck, as shown by Jfresh's chart as well as his corsi's, xGF, etcs, despite heavy offensive zone usage and we understand why Vrana only sees 3rd line minutes in Washington.

As shown by jfresh chart? Did you even read what he said? “And isn’t horrible in his own end.

Vranas corsi is 51.23 and his xgf% is 51.59% - anything over 50 is good so not sure what you’re talking about.

Wanna hear a fun fact? Vrana has been better defensively over a 3 year sample than both matthews and nylander

There is no chance galchenyuk would play over vrana on the 2nd line. Galchenyuk has been good, not great.

that has improved so much since he got on it. until he falls off its hist spot. which helps dubas for the deadline. also to note leafs lines get mangled up in games so just becasue your advertise on a line dont mean thats where you are for the whole game. hyman was advertised on the 4th but still get 19 minutes in the game. another note is vrana is just a rental. hyman is our priority to resign. i dont see the leafs making a go for vrana.

Barely over 50% isnt a good number when you have a 60% offensive start usage. These pucks are travelling down ice into his own zone about as often as he keeps them around the opposing teams net despite a 200 foot advantage.

Vrana xGF% is 51.59? thats terrible?

if Galchenyuk and Vrana were on the same roster you think Galchenyuk would play on the 2nd line over him? lmfao what?!

im coming from a leafs fan perspective. Galchenyuk has been playing great even though some people disagree. i know in this thread as i briefly went through it cuz of just a bunch of **** that i didnt care to read about analytics. Chucky has been great playing wise and analytic. its hard to demote a guy like that because of a trade of a player whos been struggling lately.

Vrana going to a team that needs wingers make sense. Really doesn't make all that much sense to the Leafs.

well nice try on a civil discussion lol. tried to be sensible. but yea worst division in hockey yet im not seeing the sabres ducks devils wings in it. and the whole 2 great players thing. hes been looking good even when hes not on ice with them. i dont watch capitals hockey so idk the eye test but right now i rather chucky. just my opinion and possibly very well a lot of leafs fans. just to not the value for him though is close imo but as a rental idk.

Anything above 50% would be good if you are starting from center ice. The fact that he starts more frequently than most other players in the offensive zone makes that number very worrisome. Despite a 200 foot advantage, he's giving up as many scoring opportunities as he's generating.

Advanced stats have context and its important to look at it or Jason Spezza would be worth a 1st + prospects.

Look at the players in that division having carrer years its a joke. Devil and Buffalo struggle bc they literally play Washington Pittsburgh Boston and the Islander 28x not to mention Philly who was hot to start and the Rangers who are on fire recently.... that division is loaded it would be hard for an average team to win in that division. strength of competition should be a factor

okay Nylander starts 70% of his shifts in the O zone and has a xGF% of 60 does that mean he sucks? or is that good ? hard to tell bc The fact that he starts more frequently than most other players in the offensive zone makes that number very worrisome. Do you see a lot of people praising Nylander for his defensive play? Its the most worrisome part of his game. Now imagine putting Vrana in Nylander's position, up against tougher competition while Nylander has better numbers to start with. Thats why Vrana is playing 3rd line minutes.

Also after a quick look, Nylander starts about 60% of his shifts in the offensive zone and has a 60% xGF. You see how that works? Shame you have to lie about the numbers.

i mean i think your stupidity is more on display than anything... but solid. massive evidence shown that Vrana is so much more than a3rd liner but you just keep switching your lame ass narrative bc you are a clown and cant properly evaluate a player. smile terrible defensively... nope 3rd line.... nope elite offensive underlining numbers.... but you do go onlol

career year? who?. and the whole division thing. people said it was weak when leafs were 1st and since the other teams catching up its somehow a good divison. now with leafs back on top buy a it theyre going back to being weak again. (not saying thats you)
