Hyman IMO is a 4.5-5m player if he hits FA. So leafs will likely end up getting him for 3.75-4.25m. He wants to stay there too.

Extending Hyman is a must. But 7 mil is a little too steep, doubt he gets a 7 mil offer post covid. I like he'll get 4.5 or so from the leafs.

They really dont, look at the goaltending, look at the bottom 6, trying to outbid other teams on a guy that is a dime a dozen would be horrible cap management, let someone be dumb and give him 5 mil +, build a full roster not 5 forwards and 4 defenseman

Paying Hyman more than Nylander is a mistake, but I'd trade Nylander before letting Hyman walk.

4 mil is probably pretty likely for Hyman. Personally, I'd give him up to 5.5, but no more than that, that would be too much.

Hyman is not a dime a dozen type player. What he brings to the leafs is unique. Extending him is not optional for Dubas.

If I’m the leafs I’m more than okay giving him 5x4.5m. I mean look at what MTL got tofolli for, not sure how FAs are going to demand for more after seeing that deal.

He's a gritty forward who produces well offensively and is a leader for them. He is well deserving of over 4 mil.

The Leafs need to pay Hyman however much is needed to keep Hyman in Toronto (after the Seattle draft so they don't have to protect him). It probably won't be as much as the Big 4, but Hyman is a hometown kid, and hopefully it will be a similar situation to Tavares except not 11 million AAV. I think the Leafs could get a better return on Kerfoot that is posted here.

I do watch alot of Leaf games, I live in southern Ontario so it kinda comes with living here. Hyman is a valuable player and is important to TORs success, I was never denying that, but overpaying him does not help make TOR better, one of the biggest knocks on the leafs is their depth and overpaying Hyman hurts that even more
