Agreed. If it's a keeper league, he's not a bad pick, but I'd assume that Toews and Girard take a lot of the icetime in his first year.

Try and get Dahlin in your keeper league I won't regret it!

This is why I didnt really understand the Toews trade/signing. Yes I know the Avs took advantage of the isles and got him at a great price, but eventually either Toews or Girard are going to be pushed down to the 3rd pairing and I think that both of them are very capable of being top 4 guys.

they either protect 4 D and lose graves (unless johnson waives NMC) or they leave toews/ girard exposed and pay to keep them - i dont think they care about the ice time factor as byram likely wont steal a spot until next year (i doubt byram pulls off what makar did).

Heiskanen is going to be waaay more valuable because of the playoffs. Dahlins value will be at it's lowest now. Heiskanens will be higher than Dahlins to the common public imo

I would not expect a ton of production out if him. Makar is going to stay the #1PP specialist for a very long time. Its not that he's not offensively talented...its that he won't see the ice a ton.

You dont have to force Byram into top 4 minutes while they compete for the cup. Toews can play the right side as well. It could be Byram Makar, Girard Toews as their top 4 as well. Options are not a bad thing

The game is also moving to less of a set 'top line' or 'top pairing' set up and more towards quality in depth, pretty soon first, second and third pairing will be irrelevant. Which will be better for teams as the guys who are the supposed 'top' two won't have to carry as many minutes.

I agree. Even last year the splits of ice time bw the Avs regular dman was not that far apart, they really like to roll out their pairs and adjust based on special teams and situational needs. If not Bednar is just rolling out the guys...try to stop the waves of talent

Thanks guys. I don’t need him to have a big season. Just actually play lol. I just don’t want to draft him and have him sitting zeroes every night I just couldn’t find any information which way avs were leaning whatsoever. We’re on year three so guys like dahlin heiskanen etc are long gone.

For further info it’s a ten player keeper then we draft remaining players. I have five starting d spots with hedman Hamilton ekblad and pulock already. So I theoretically can bury byram a bit as long as he puts up 25-30 points him just doing spot duty as long as I get a decent fifth guy is fine. I just took him so hope it works out. Thanks again.
