Laine should be up with mcdavid. Do not take yamo from draisaitl for the love of god. Drouin is probably not necessary if kahun can play like he can.

You don't need 12 defensive forwards. While that would be nice, that's not how you construct a hockey team. I'm not comparing the two, but a guy like Kucherov isn't the greatest at his defensive game but is still regarded as one of the best wingers in the league.

Kucherov is a lot better defensively than people think he constantly pick people pockets and plays more physical than you think.

klefbom also isn't playing so that might be a flaw in the plan. i'd keep larsson to mentor broberg in the future.

Why Drouin?

The stats tell me otherwise, he's average at it, but he's not good per say. It's similar with Drouin. He had a terrible season, but he was also playing hurt.

If you have to make 6 lopsided trades to call your team "champs" that really says a lot about how good the team actually is.

These trades aren't bad, I get the idea of moving cap out for the 4thbriunders and any team but I feel like in this market you will get less even. Montreal will probably trade JD by the TDL if everyone else plays well, could get him for less then what's he's worth but I would think other teams will make good offers. In theory WPG gets what they won't top 6 center and a possible too 4D. But Liane will cost to much, and Nuge is a solid LW/C two-way player who will costs less and help the Oilers more overall. Plus I haven't seen one WPG show any willingness to any trade offer for Laine on here.
