Description
This is the fourth round of a tournament style selecting the best of the competing worst contracts from a team. The last three rounds can be found here:

No, I don’t care if you think that one of these guys isn’t actually the worst contract on their team. If you feel you desperately have to voice that opinion, go back to round one and do it there.

You’re picking the better of the two contracts. Here we go.

Last round Nyquist and Price were a tie. I went with Nyquist because Price was a crazy person pick.

Honestly the description is a bit confusing. Even after reading it, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be picking the better or worse of the 2 contracts.

is it just the cap hit vs the players on ice value or do you consider the teams cap situation also

Marner is if all things considered...if not his cap hit is respectable considering he puts up Matthews numbers and makes less

it's the brackets here that have very heavily favored some contracts over others.
If this is matched Marner over OEL, we get different outcomes.

I mean putting the ones that are more closely aligned would have helped boil this down to closer match ups. As is these are some one sided matchups and predictably so.

Marner is going to win this because he is a dynamic young forward that isn’t expected to decline during the term. There is at least hope he can continue to develop into being worth every penny which he isn’t that far off of. Maybe next time do something like this have an age and term requirement like 28 years old with atleast 3 years remaining that would create tougher choices in my opinion. Good job following up with this tho was fun to keep an eye on but seems very obivous at this stage

I tried to get it so it would eventually be east vs west. Darn, you’re right. That would have been so much more interesting. Heck, i might just call an audible.

Nyquist and Marner contracts aren't bad. Marner is definitely overpaid, but not by too much. He does put up like 95 pts so its fine. OEL's term is too long, which is why I chose him over Stastny
