They pretty much go hand in hand, do they not? It's not an indivual game. Price is 33 and that contract doesn't end till he is 39 or 40 at 10.5M. It is very rare a goalie will be good that long, everyone knows that. Regardless it is a very bad contract. With players its different, they can be good much longer.

Matheson is way to early to say this is top 10 bad contract. Hell he had 1 bad year. Last year wasn't awful but it wasn't great. He needed a change.
OEL isn't a top 10 contract either.

How old will Doughty be at the end of his contract? 38? It's not much better. My point is that you're taking into consideration Price's current stats to judge his contract, but you don't for Doughty. If the team argument for Doughty is valid, it is for Price. Both Doughty and Price were among the top players at their position a few years ago and can still be if their respective team bounce back, but as it stands, Doughty's contract is not much better than Price.

Doughty did not have a bad season. Again, watch him. With the Kings getting better soon with Byfield, Vilardi, Turcotte, Kaliyev, and finally a real D partner soon in Bjornfot its only logical his production will go up and his defense will continue to be elite. He isn't injury prone either.

There are many reasons why Doughty doesn't make this list and you're not doing a good job changing that.

He had a lot of big money contracts. He made approximately 114 million dollars over his career, more than Ovi (113 million).

Ekman-Larsson's contract is not one of the 10 worst.

Pietrangelo doesn't suck because he plays with Gunnarsson, Bouwmeester, Edmundson. Same for Chabot with Zaitsev, Hainsey, Goloubef. Yes, partner has some effect but start by playing well yourself, which Doughty can't.

Term and LTIR probability is what sets him apart from these guys IMO.
