Description
Freddy needs to be resigned in a year and will want more, and will be 31 with no action past 1st Round. Ottawa needs to move past Craig Anderson and needs cap hit, but low salary. Freddy fits the bill, and they also need players who they can put on the ice. Dermott will never crack higher than 3rd pair D on this team. Murray is younger and played tandem with Campbell in the Soo. Taylor Hall wants to prove himself, and its not all about the money. Brodie is the steady partner Reilly needs. Borowiecki and Bogosian add Grit and make D more defense oriented. Thornton will be a strong 3C and adds size. Simmonds can add grit and skill to replace Clifford. Spezza is hungry, and has proven himself already. Detroit needs to start using players under the age of 30. Add a sweetener here or there maybe but I think its all fair.

Why would Ottawa dislike? They need a goalie, need to meet the cap floor and don't want to spend any money. Draft picks don't play games right away. Maybe you forgot that a third of their team last year were former Leafs..

First off, the Sens "needing to hit the floor" is just not true. They will hit the floor just by getting their current roster under contract.

They don't need a rental goalie. The Sens aren't close to competing, so Andersen does nothing to help them this year, and his age makes re-signing him not an option. He'll be 32 when his extension kicks in, there's no way he makes sense with the Sens timeline. The Sens peak window matches up with his likely decline.

I cant believe you think 1 year of a slightly above average goalie gets a top 3 pick. Would you trade Marner away to get Andersen? This post is clearly troll

Red wings aren't trading 2nd round picks for bottom 6 guys and ahl guys. If you want to trade us Johnsson it's Johnsson + tor 2nd for erne. If you trade him to a cup contender you will most likely get your 3rd pick you want

While you’re at it, why not swap Brodie for pietro? Pietro is better and maybe he’ll take an even lower salary than hall

Because a team that is still a pretty far way away from competing for a playoff spot moving 3rd OA (Or 5th for that matter) to get a goalie coming off of his worst season in the NHL, who is also now over 30, who isn't going to carry you over the hump is possibly the dumbest thing a team could do. Remember the Kessel trade, where Toronto thought they were closer than they actually were? This is actually a worse trade than that.

Okay I have a genuine question for Leafs fans cause I’ve probably seen Andersen for a top 5 pick almost 10 times now.
Do you A. Not realize that that pick is 5th overalll
Or B. Are you that delusional that you think Andersen is worth 5th overall

Murray isn't worth a 1st round pick, Fat chance i see Andersen going to Ottawa. Both Hall and Brodie get far more plus Brodie wont play in Toronto he grew up a diehard Red Wings fan like Ekblad. Everything about this is terrible.

Thank you all. I'm sorry. I did not realize you were all working for NHL teams. Murray may not be a worth a first, but that is apparently the asking price... Freddy could be resigned, he will always be younger than Craig Anderson, and maybe a goalie who can stop a few pucks might not be a bad idea to help prevent all the young superstars from wanting a trade after finishing near last place forever. Change the pick if it makes you happy, they have more than enough. While you are at it please share the list of goalies who are begging their Agents to be traded to Ottawa. Eugene cant even resign Borowiecki, his personal video pal. Now that, was embarrassing. Brodie would already be here if Kadri had not refused to go to Calgary. Brodie is from Chatham. Why do people think that every player is on the team they grew up cheering? As for paying Brodie more, what team do you suggest that may be? Same goes for Hall. He has already said money is secondary. A lot of teams are not just Cap challenged, they are cash challenged. And as for Johnnson could play in Detroits top 6 seven days a week. Peace out!
