Tomorrow
Not bad. I think Mikheyev and Gudas get a bit more. Lehtonen can play L or R Defence so that works. If you move Kerfoot for picks and replace with Derek Grant at 700K you get skill and grit and might be close to affording Pietrangelo on D, or at very least fitting in your 13th and 14th forwards to fill the roster. I like Brodie but I think Flames sign him over Hamonic. Hamonic would not be bad either, and would come cheaper.

Possible Leafs 2020-21
Mikheyev is not getting that. Maybe 1,250 on a Bridge deal. That would allow you to keep Engvall as 4C, Spezza as 4RW and send Malgin to Marlies. Or if you still trade Engvall, replace Malgin with Barabanov. Still don't think they get Pietrangelo, or that Anderson is a Leaf this season.

I like the Leaf trade for Parayko. That would be a game changer. As for replacing the 3C on the Leafs, there will be a number of players available who could slot into that role for less than Kerfoot. Don't get me wrong, I like him, but I would rather have Joe Thornton in that slot for 2 million or less. 3C , 4C and Left Wingers are easier to find than 1C,2C and Right Wingers.

Thank you all. I'm sorry. I did not realize you were all working for NHL teams. Murray may not be a worth a first, but that is apparently the asking price... Freddy could be resigned, he will always be younger than Craig Anderson, and maybe a goalie who can stop a few pucks might not be a bad idea to help prevent all the young superstars from wanting a trade after finishing near last place forever. Change the pick if it makes you happy, they have more than enough. While you are at it please share the list of goalies who are begging their Agents to be traded to Ottawa. Eugene cant even resign Borowiecki, his personal video pal. Now that, was embarrassing. Brodie would already be here if Kadri had not refused to go to Calgary. Brodie is from Chatham. Why do people think that every player is on the team they grew up cheering? As for paying Brodie more, what team do you suggest that may be? Same goes for Hall. He has already said money is secondary. A lot of teams are not just Cap challenged, they are cash challenged. And as for Johnnson could play in Detroits top 6 seven days a week. Peace out!

Why would Ottawa dislike? They need a goalie, need to meet the cap floor and don't want to spend any money. Draft picks don't play games right away. Maybe you forgot that a third of their team last year were former Leafs..

Try this
Wow, its been a while since I have posted on here... If anyone is interested, my thought process was as follows... St. Louis has about 2 million to sign Pietrangelo, Dunn, and Bouwmeester if he is able or willing to return. Something has got to give. I liked Bozak as a Leaf and a Blue, and no offence, but I don't see anyone taking him off their hands at 4 million for 3rd line duties.. So if not Parayko, who goes from the Blues? other teams The Blues are getting older than most teams, they need major Cap relief, picks, prospects, and Parayko is their best trading chip. The Leafs are not trading any one of Matthews, Marner, Reilly, Tavares or Nylander. Detroit needs to add some established younger players and they have picks to spare. As for Stralman, my thinking was that Sandin is the future 3rd pairing Left D, so he may as well get some regular ice time. He needs to play with a quality veteran defenceman, a mentor, who can also play up in the lineup if injuries occur. Is his current salary an over payment? Perhaps, so may Florida retains some or sweetens the deal.

Hometown Boys chance for Cup requires lots of moves
@jamiepo...Leafs need some size and grit, and veteran leadership with Marleau and Hainsey gone. I just thought this was a great opportunity for Spezza and Simmonds to bring it home at the tail end of their careers. I think Stralman still has it it and was a Leaf Draft pick, and has yet to get the Cup. I think Benning could benefit from Muzzins experience, and Dermott / Rosen could get the same from Pateryn, not to mention his physical play. Bottom line is they need that added size and grit to get through the next rounds.

Thanks for your comments. tried to address other teams positional or Cap needs. Was reading a pundits report that was basically saying that Crawford and Delia might need a third wheel, which is why I sent him there. Most Leaf fans would send him to the moon, one way.

major motion
I like the idea of Ferland with Matthews and Nylander. But if they are going to pay 4.5 million they could keep one of Kapanen or Johnnson, and pay a bit less. Not sure I am on board with Letang. Great player but would rather someone younger who will be around for a while, and I think they need to add two solid guys on the right not just one. Whats the plan when Hyman returns?

Leafs post ZaitsevMarleau
I cannot see MArner signing for anything less than 10,500,000, as he wants close to Matthews money and will at least want to be paid more than PAtrick Kane.
Coach Babs does not seem to like PK Subban. No point trading for him if he gets limited minutes.

Overpayment for Martinez IMHO. Edmonton is looking for cap relief. That deal does not help them as it adds a couple of million to their cap. Brown and pick or prospects would make more sense.

Hall wants out
I think with Zaitsev wanting out and Marleau being willing to move there is no way the Leafs let Marner go, and with yhose two potentially moved, they could give him the same $ as Matthews if they had to. I would rather see Leafs give Anaheim Zaitsev and a 7th round pick and take back Anaheims 6th Tound pick and Patrick Eaves. Leafs can send Eaves straight to the Marlies and can afford to pay him down there. They get 4.5 million cap relief and a 6th rounder. Anaheim gets Depth on D. I dont think Brown gets you Benning and a pick. Would Rather see Brown and something else packaged to get Larsson. Would also rather Marleau for Martinez.

Turning over a New Leaf
Thanks for the comments. As I said in my description, picks and prospects may need to be added or tweaked. Who would not like an upgrade from Holl, but the objective was also to be within the cap. I think Pateryn plays better in the Eastern conference, and I also think Holl has more to show when paired with a veteran who allows him to play his natural side. He has been okay the last 2 games, but it is stressful when you sit in the pressbox and only play when the Coach feels he has has no options. Dermott and Holl were the top pairing Marlies before Dermott moved up. Unfortunately the Salary Cap does not allow too many upgrades until Marleau is off the books.

Tavares was fazed?
Seems to me that the only babies having a tantrum were the Islander fans at Nassau.
Tavares wore Pajamas as a kid, but Islander fans today are still wearing Sleepers. Waaaah!
9 year *@#$ show with WangenSnow and Isles fans pile on JT?
Well, since you don't need him, I guess you will have to win the Cup without him.
He doesn't need or want a party, because he is classy, and a gentleman.
But he does deserves one for putting up with 9 years of broken promises, lack of support and fair weather fans.
Did you boo Matt Martin when he signed to the Leafs? Probably. Enough said.

Mitch Marner Update
I think Marner goes long term, at 10,160,000. In the short term it looks horrible, but in the long term its probably a deal. Regardless of what he gets, Kadri and Brown are gone if they have any hope of signing one or both of Kapanen and Johannson. I could see Marleau move to 3C, and Marchment and Bracco advance to the Big Club. Unless Hainsey is willing to take a major haircut he is not resigned, and Babs will have to learn to live without him and embrace whoever takes his place.

Kadri traded at 2019 TDL Brown traded at Draft
Sorry, thought Paquette was UFA. They may mave to trade hin anyway as TB Cap will be tight. I guess point being Leafs need a 3rd line centre that costs less than 4.5 million long term. Other posters keep saying CAR is loaded with RHD. What they do not have is a ton of depth at C, IMO, which is why I suggest Kadri, who could be a 2 C anywhere except Leafs now. Wingers are easier to acquire. And going forward Leafs need to shed $$ upfront if they want any hope of keeping Kapanen and Johhnson. So maybe you have to sweeten the deal for Pesce with a pick or prospect. He is very good, but not on the Norris short list that I am aware of. Pulujarvi is being jerked around, apparently is unhappy and McDavid would love to play with Brown again. While adding a better pick but I think it could happen. Kapanen and Johnnson have to be realistic in the short term. The big money is down the road after Marleau is gone. But until then, if they want to be part of this team they will have to allow themselves to fit in the available Cap Space. Just my opinion.

I think too much for Pulujarvi based on his career so far. I know he was a 1st round pick but. That is part of why i packaged him with Talbot. They want to shed salary more than anything, and may have a price to pay to do so IMO.

@ RJA 40...Thanks. I was trying to finagle a 1st because Buffalo has 3. I doont know if they want to use all the picks for players who may not play for 3 years...they want players who can step into the line up because they are improving every season. So yeah, maybe more has to be added to justify, or they have to settle for less of a return.
