** READ THIS BEFORE COMMENTS FOR EXPLAINATION**

1. I trade Charlie Lindgren to LA because we don't have space for him anymore in our roster due to emergence of Cayden Primeau. LA need to replace Kevin Poulin in AHL because they will not resign him, so a 6th round pick is fair enough for both team.

2. I move Paul Byron to Buffalo, because we are going to need cap space for my next moves and I don't want to let him play on my 4th line in Montreal. I trade him to Buffalo because they need a left winger to play on their 3rd line. Also, the speed and defensive skills of Byron will complete their actual roster and they have cap space for him.

3. My first big move is to bring Patrick Laine to Montreal. First of all, we need to understand that Winnipeg want to add depth in centerman and defenseman. They need help immediately in their roster and potential prospects for their future. So my offer is going to be Max Domi (C) + Victor Mete (D) for immediate help. I add two B+ prospects like Ryan Poehling (C + 1st rounder in 2017) and Jayden Struble (D + 2nd rounder in 2019). Finally, because Laine has a high market value I need to overpaid for him, so I add my 1st round in 2021, 2nd round in 2022 and 3rd rounder in 2021.

4. I sign Taylor Hall for a 9 000 000$/ 7 years. I took recent contract of Jeff Skinner, Mark Stone and Blake Wheeler in comparaison for my offer to Hall. I suppose that he want to have a long term contract after his 4th team in career so I give max length to make sure he will accept.

After these moves, Montreal is going to be back as a serious contender, they have now a huge offensive punch, and I consider that I still conserve a respectable draft picks bank and prospects pool.

That would be an easy and certain no from Winnipeg. According to reports when terms ask Chevy about Ehlers or Laine, Chevy's ask is rightfully astronomically high. So, a quantity for quality offer wouldn't be entertained in the slightest.

-Charlie Lindgren needs to clear waivers, why would they send a pick for him, when Montreal is going to need to waive him so given that LA should be high on the waiver claim list, they might as well just wait for them to do it if he's their guy.

I’d say do one or the other to protect cap. Hall or Laine.

Also, WPG ought to consider that. Even though it’s a quantity for quality. That is 4-5 good pieces.

We are likely to have a flat cap for a few years. I imagine it could actually go down (along with compliance buyouts).

If we sign Domi (or if it goes to arb), I'm guessing it'll be for 1 year.
I don't think Evans gets more than NHL minimum salary (with the 1st year being a two way deal, he's still waiver exempt).
Juulsen I'm really not sure how to value, but as a comparable I can see him getting close to Jacob Larrson's two year deal.
I'm guessing that we don't offer QOs to either McNiven or Waked.
Mete at under $1.5mm gets zero offer sheet compensation, and I think a team like Ottawa or many others would easily sign him to that (looking at the Reilly deal last summer and how he ultimately ended up in Ottawa for a late pick).

It's your opinion on that trade, but many persons like my offer too for Laine even if you consider it's a quantity deal. Domi as a center worth a good value and Winnipeg needs to replace Litlle as 2nd centerman so it's a good fit. Add whatever you want after that in quality if you want like Caufield or other.

Not that much, we are going to have more than 36 millions in cap space to renew all these contracts. For sure, we are not going to have enough for everybody, but eventually we aren't keep everyone too. With Hall and Laine, and the emergence of Suzuki and KK, I don't have problem to let Tatar and Danault to move away.

Logically, though why would Winnipeg fix a small hole at 2C, by creating a massive hole at wing and not fixing any other problems?

If this is the best offer Winnipeg received, it is a guarantee that Chevy keeps Laine. Again from the hockey insiders, the only way Laine or Ehlers move is if Chevy is blown away by an offer. So, it's not a matter of whether you believe your offer is fair, it's just that realistically Chevy wouldn't make the trade.
