I spoke to @BeastModeUnknown and I don’t think St Louis wants to give up their top D for a winger, even though the value is there. I think a fair trade would be Nylander for Pesce, he is also extremely good.

I think it's way too much. Parayko has 2 years left and is going to get paid big. He's also the 2nd best RHD on his team which always gives me pause when fans think a guy is worth a pile of assets. He's great but is he elite? Hard to say when he also has Pietrangelo being an all-star ahead of him. I wouldn't do this.

he's the second best on the team yet the only reason he is number 2 is because Pietrangelo is ranked top 7 in defenseman, and Parayko is top 15 in defenseman for the NHL. So either way you still have to pay more than what you want considering the fact Petro is already one foot out the door, Parayko is better than any defenseman you have he was ranked higher than Rielly even. Toronto has nothing Blues would want when we are winning now, not rebuilding. The Blues wouldn't ever do that trade. Sure he has 2 years left on his contract, but he is also on a steal of a contract. So honestly I don't think you watch Blues hockey, or you are a casual fan one of the two. Parayko is in Top 10 in Defensive Defenseman in the League.

Maybe, I do think he's terrific. Don't get me wrong but I also know Nylander is terrific and is without a doubt one of the most underrated players on this site. Him and a 1st for Parayko should mean that Rielly would be worth Jack Hughes and a 1st and I bet no one will agree with that.

But when you look at the idea of the Blues. What gives you the idea that we even need him. You have to fill our needs, and you aren't there is absolutely no need for Nylander and he doesn't fit in our team. You explaining to me that Nylander is worth the first overall pick is also very stupid. Because your first is very late and especially when it's 2022 we have almost no clue how deep that draft is gonna be, so we have no reason whatsoever to do that

The defence in TO isn't the full problem, forwards blowing assignments at the opposition Blueline is way more of a problem. But that is neither here nor their.

Well I'm just saying valid arguments Parayko deals probably don't happen, I don't see Hampus Lindholm, Josh Manson deals happening either. I'd say Brett Pesce might be a top option, and maybe you can get Cam Fowler, but you really aren't willing to over pay the market for a RHD. NHL market for Right Handed Defenseman. NHL market for Right Handed Defenseman is an overpayment needed a lot of fans don't think so, but in fact a lot of the top RHD just aren't available, sellers see that, and teams who aren't selling their RHD see that too, and it means the market for Defenseman you just have to overpay it's the same way with a top center. Face Value and Market Value are completely different things.

Yes, he's waaaay elite. There's not a better defenseman who can shut down another teams best players. He doesn't score much, but his defense is so good, he doesn't have to. Think the Yadi Molina of hockey.
