Description
This is my last attempt at Tampa. I think this somewhat resembles best case scenario (There are no good options for Tampa) - This is the most balanced roster I could create, that actually could make sense for all parties.

Palat, Gourde and Johnson will have an opportunity to step up to the plate again and try to justify their contracts (Gourde needs to do this the most)

Right but Ristolainen isn’t very good at defense. And Montour is decent. They are building the blueline around Dahlin and Jokiharju.

no buffalo fan on here says they’d trade joki for a 2C because we all view joki as an untouchable. yes we still have strength on our right side but we don’t have the defense pairing of the future in dahlin-jokiharju anymore which would be debilitating.

I assume Buffalo would rather keep Jokiharju than their 2021 1st, so again they just offer sheet Cirelli and keep him without helping out a division opponent

Cirelli is FAR from a “glorified 3C”. In this scenario, he instantly becomes Buffalo’s 2nd best forward.

I havent seen any buffalo fans have said that, He is viewed as a top pairing dman to play with Dahlin.

2nd as in behind Eichel reinhart Skinner Olofsson yeah right there 2nd.

Cirelli benefited from playing with one of the most talented groups in the nhl. He would not have the same success in Buf he would be an ok 2c, great 3c... and that does not get Joki

Ive watched Cirelli. He is good no doubt. He is also inflated on a top 3 team in the NHL.

So hit me with some facts. The quantitative facts are sure to be great, but all quantitative stats are met with a level of qualitative reasoning.

Because Cirelli was used as a 2C on perhaps the league’s best team. Cirelli is the 44th highest scoring centre in the league and getting talked up for the Selke.
Jokiharju was used as 4/5 D on a team that didn’t make the playoffs.

Jokiharju should be good and could be really good.Cirelli is really good.

Everything matter when you make an untouchable claim. Idgaf about Risto but 2 years ago he was untouchable and so was Nylander. Everyone is untouchable. It gets annoying. So in 2 years when he’s just a solid #3-4 ask the hype will go away
