Florida is getting a good solid 3rd line centre and a 4th defenseman. Wallmark may ask for a bit of money so I wouldn't mine swapping him for Kerfoot

And Kerfoot is more valuable than Wallmark. It's pretty even.

Dermott is younger and has a bit of a higher ceiling so it’s close to fair

Depends on what reports you read, has FLA management said cut $10M from the payroll, or are they going to make a run a Pietrangelo? Either way though doesn’t FLA have to shed money regardless?

I'm not sure that Kerfoot > Wallmark. This season, Wallmark scored more goals than Kerfoot and recorded almost as many points while split between two teams. And he's a year younger and also an RFA for another year.

I'm with @mhockey91 : the second stays there.

I am 100% sure that Kerfoot > Wallmark. Yes, their basic points stat lines were not that far apart this year (though still leaning in Kerfoot's favor), but Kerfoot was on pace for a career low and Wallmark on pace for a career best season. Odds are that straightens itself out a little bit. Kerfoot is also the superior defensive player. The team control thing also depends on what Wallmark's next contract is. If the Leafs add at all, it's more like a 4th or 5th.

Yeah the second has to stay. Cause you’re right you can even argue Kerfoot vs Wallmark but Weeger is clear cut better than Dermott. Dermott is 23 and still hasn’t cracked a top 4 role on a weak leafs D. Weeger would instantly be their best RHD next year. He’s criminally underrated
