Description
Max domi is rfa this summer so stop with all those ridiculous trade offer. If Mtl end up trading him, the team who will acquire him will have send a huge package including high pick and high prospect. Your looking at math duchenes or braydan scheen deal. It won’t be cheap. By the way kapanen and johnsson with a first round or a second round aren’t enough pull your head out of your ‘%# Maple Leafs fans. The cup droughts have affected your jugement

I got bored and posted what I thought might be a realistic package for Domi from WPG. I think I made it pretty fair. I actually came up with two proposals that could work. I’m not an idiot undervaluing him in fact I probably overvalued him.

This is what I proposed:

1.

Max Domi with 7 x 7,142,857 extension
For
Jack Roslovic
Dylan Samberg
2020 3rd round pick (becomes 2020 2nd if jets make second round of playoffs, 2020 1st if Jets make SCF

2.

Max Domi with same extension
For
Sami Niku
Kristian Vesalainen
Logan Stanley
Michael Spacek
2020 1st rd pick
2021 2nd rd pick (if jets win Stanley cup in 2020 or 2021 it becomes the 2021 1st rd pick)

I think I was one of the first ppl to start these trades I apologize. I just like Max Domi and think he’d be a really solid 2c for years to come. I know it would take a lot to get him but I tried for fair or overpayment from WPG.

The idea of domi getting trade is something possible for Montreal since they could fill a need on their left side on defence. But yes the leafs fans have made it terrible. But i am not that surprise they think that all their players are futur hall of famer and all other player in the league are trash can.

I just don’t get it. What the point of making agm if it ain’t to be realistic. Or are they really don’t know hockey and just are trolling? Those are my questions

Don’t feel bad, those trade offer are good attempt and i am sure they have generate a lot of discussion. By the way the only option Mtl would study is the second one, with niku and veselainen.

The trade that where posted today from leafs fans are just terrible, i mean where all supposed to be hockey fan out here. People watch game and know players for most part. Even has a fan you must have some decency and discernment. I guess i ask to much

Really the Roslovic and Samberg trade wouldn’t interest the Habs? top 6 winger and a NHL ready top 4 dman that’s big and plays hard. I guess maybe it’s the picks. I just figured the first offer is quality over quantity. I wouldn’t mind making that 2nd trade. I think it’s good for both teams. Jets could always swap out one of spacek or Stanley and add a 3rd if the Habs think that’s better value.

Roslovic haven’t had a real impact at nhl level yet. He is on pace for 35 point. He sure have potential but he is very streaky since coming to the nhl and Samberg is really interesting but he is still in the ncaa and he look like he will play next season again there so i’ll become free agent after that if he want. So Montreal would get a third line players for domi in that first option. The other one have a lot more potential and with the draft pick included its what à rebuilding team are looking for

Yeah I know what you’re saying about him being streaky. He has flashes of brilliance and then is just a solid player. I think he easily has top 6 potential and will most likely imo break out next year. For Samberg, it’s been reported he wants to be in the NHL next year. I think he’ll easily have a spot on WPG next year so he’ll be signed. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s signed at the end of his college season this year. He’s an absolute beast. He looks like a man playing vs boys in college. He’s big, can skate and play the puck. He’s a really good prospect but I get what you’re saying. I think that the Niku and Vesalainen trade is interesting for both sides. Would love to see it happen. Do you think MTL would accept that second offer?

But what the point of posting agm if you aren’t gonna make some realistic trade offer. Based on comparable and similarities. I just don’t get why people do that. I always enjoy your post and analysis by the way you have a very good knowledge of hockey in general and seem to try beiing impartial.

I thibk that they would consider trading him since suzuki have been so good this year and will probably be moved at center next year.
Samberg would probably have had a roster spot this year in Winnipeg. He isn’t the flashiest defenseman but he is very efficient in is own zone and can make a solid transition pass.

For some reason(s) I don't understand, many people like to create wishful thinking trades of low-value players on their own teams for high-quality players on someone else's. I've never understood that. To me, the whole idea is to propose that Buffalo trade Marco Scandella to Montreal for a fourth-round draft pick and then have that actually happen. If I had done that, I would be after my poor wife every night for a week.

Yeah I was thinking about Suzuki and how he pretty much makes Max expendable. I think what I offered would be good for both teams, jets get a 2c of the future and MTL gets a 2020 1st, a possible 2021 1st, a real good RD prospect in Niku with a lot of offensive upside, a F prospect with top 9 potential that needs a chance, a big LD prospect that is close to NHL ready, a F prospect that could be NHL ready next year. I think that’s a solid trade.

Not even close to my personal favorite, which was Los Angeles trades Alec Martinez to a Division rival and retains half his salary for a guy in Russia and a fourth-round pick in 2022 (22!!) if the guy never comes back from Russia. Beat that.

The Nylander trades prior to him playing this season were fun. "Tell you what, I'll take Nylander and I'll give you Shaw and Seabrook." Stuff like that happened a lot lol

Would be nice! Those last few season habs and leafs have played some amazing game. A lot of speed, chance of the rush and rivalry a good mix.

Don’t get me wrong here I am a habs fan of course but a hockey fan first of all and even if i don’t cheer the Maple Leafs i can do a proper evaluation of players. And maple leafs have a some real good one. And they haven’t been healthy for most of the year. If they find a solid right handed defenseman they will be a solid contender

I think they are a solid contender, still need to iron out some things but they are scary offensively and Keefe's system has them already operating 8th overall in Goals against since he took over. It will get better the more they learn his system
