I think it'll take more than that for Drouin. Maybe a conditional 1st (if the Sharks make the finals) and a slightly better prospect.

Would you consider True as good enough or would it take one of the chwins ?

I'd really hate to give up either of them, so yeah maybe True or one of the guys we just drafted (Knyazev, Hamaliuk)

Fair enough, do you think Drouin would even be a good idea to go for or would someone like Palat or Johnson or a 3way trade for Toffoli be more reasonable/beneficial ?

The price should be lower for any of those 3 so I'd like that a lot more. With Dillon, Melker, Dell, and Thornton's contracts ending and a 2 mil-ish increase in cap we could actually go out and get a big FA next year, especially since everyone (except Labanc) is already signed. So a low price for 1 year of any of those guys would probably be better.

I think it’s best to give True and either Chekhovich or Chmelevski a shot before trading for a fringe top 6 veteran like Toffoli or Palat. Johnson has five years left on his deal at a cap hit of 5m per with a modified NTC. I think if we’re trading for a RW he needs to be a solidified top 6 guy with a good contract and under 28. But I think Doug has faith in the prospects as he has stated the org is very excited about our youngsters and the fact they let Nyquist walk is even more telling that they intend to let the youth duke it out in camp.

I think it’s a good plan, we’ve seen what Jumbo has done for Sorensen and Labanc, he can do that again for True and Chekhovich and even Gambrell.

Personally I don’t see Ferraro making the squad out of camp. He needs a year with the Cuda. Merkley however, I think is a dark horse simply because he doesn’t need another year in the OHL and he either makes the team or he goes back to the OHL, he cant be sent to the AHL.

Read your guys comments,

Honestly I love Chmelevski (67’s) and Chekhovich as our 2 kids. But man, if we could do; Chekhovich or Chmel (whoever you 2 think is worse/ better off not to keep over the other guy), a 2020 3rd and 2nd with a Conditional first. I’d really like that. If Drouin finally grows up and as he said plays good for close to 82 games he can really make us deadly. Like. I really like that trade or

Chek
True
2020 2nd
2021 3rd

I’d literally bet on the sharks to win the cup again ( I put 100$ on them last year in August before Karlsson )

Although the trade needs
More return for
MTL

I’d bet again if we can pull Drouin

???? for sure dillon is worth a first round pick. He was the 5th defenseman last season in san jose but he is better than second pairing Defenseman all around
The league. This is san jose evaluation. Alléluia

Drouin's more like

Merkley , Dahlen, and a conditional 2nd 2021 pick that becomes a 1st if neither player plays 40 games by the 2021 draft

otherwise no upside in MTL selling low on a 24 year old player who averaged 50 points each of the last 3 seasons under 3 different coaches .

I still really enjoy how you come into sharks posts and provide no constructive criticism, but just laugh at our offers with no rebuttal from your “immense” hockey knowledge

You don't need "immense" hockey knowledge to know that you can't get a skilled and still young winger (on a great contract) for players/picks you don't care about... Stop trying to be the smart-ass here. If I'd do a post asking for Hertl in exchange of Jesse Ylonen, a second and a third you'd be pissed too

he tagged in people who usually offer something more then just ''this post sucks'' comments or variations of that many fans like you're describing above do .

its a pretty even balance of Habs fans from each side of the spectrum from Me and Palhal are two sides of the same coin and on long term projections we often agree but short term we have very different idea's on who will step up . Math and GMs have a similar balance as does Habsfutureisnow and SebyBBQ

this usually happens when value's are ridiculously off by a country mile in hopes an honest conversation from one of the above might help your next post be more realistic . I wouldnt take it to personally as there isnt a member i've met who didnt have posts like this in their first 6 months including myself . Sometimes its hard to focus on context when all you hear in the media is how bad a consistent 50 point player is because he's not a point per game by age 23 and this site is a good place to learn because tons of people will provide tons of examples and sources in such case's to determine value .

good attempt but next time consider what the other team gets as something that matters just as much as what you get .

San Jose and MTL arent good trade partners, if Drouin is to be trade, it will be for a establish top 4 dman, not Dillon but more Gostisbehere. But MTL doesnt need to move Drouin, is our best LW. Tatar is doing great, but he'll be gone in 2 years. Domi Drouin will be MTL top 6 LW in 2 years

I always came here with the beat intention. I’ve made constructive criticism on your trade proposal, and i do this for other team to. I am just the big hockey fan, i’ve play the game a lot and now i’ve started to coach it. You think this is personal but you are wrong, i have some fight with @chihawks19 and @JeffW we aren’t agreeing on everything but we
Still exchange on threads and have even been on the same page. The manner that you said that i always came with nothing constructive is completely false, you just don’t like when people does remark you that maybe sometimes your evaluation is off.
