More of a minor trade but I could definitely see the Sharks trying to deal Reimer to get back into the 2nd round

2022 Mock Draft part 1
I've been watching some SHL games, specifically for Eklund, and I would 100% be on board with the Sharks taking Lekkerimäki or Öhgren to pair with him.

The Sharks probably wouldn't do a prospect-for-prospect type deal for Merkley. The only way I see them trading Merkley to the Habs is in a package for Dvorak/Gallagher, if the Sharks are really pushing for the playoffs and need to add to their top 6.

Sharks jump in on Eichel - Calgary trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Tkachuk's not on the block, you want him you start with Eklund and add from there</div></div>
The Sharks aren't trading with Calgary in this scenario, this is only for if the Eichel - Calgary trade happens and Buffalo wants to flip Tkachuk. I'm really not worried about the flames would want, just gauging if the value is there for Buffalo to accept the trade. And as for Eklund, lol no, if he was on the table we might as well get Eichel ourselves.

Yeah I assumed the offer was a little light. What more needs to come back from the Sharks end? Another higher end prospect like Merkley and a 2/3rd?

Kane gone for the year Eichel trade
I know people think Shark's fans unwillingness to give up Eklund is a case of a fan overvaluing their prospects, but that isn't even the case anymore. Eklund is a valuable roster piece at this point (I mean, he plays on the top 6), so at this point trading for Eichel, but removing an extremely important roster player to do so makes no sense for Sharks.

If Dahlen and Eklund hold down their top 6 roles I'd have no problem putting Kane on the third line. After what he's done I'd rather he didn't immediately get his spot back.

Stone was traded for Brannstrom and a 2nd. Brannstrom was a consensus top 20 prospect in hockey when he was traded, Brisson is not that. This is far less than they gave up for Stone

Are these fair
I get some Sharks fans don't like this, but honestly if we were to get Eichel, this would be my preferred way. Hertl provides the bulk of the value, Eklund is not involved in the trade, and there's a protection on this year's 1st (considering Eichel probably won't play this year). Maybe the one point of contention is swapping Bordeleau for a slightly lesser prospect like Wiesblatt, Robins or Gushchin, or keep Bordeleau and have Buffalo take some cap back (Vlasic with $2,000,000 retention perhaps)

The Sharks backed out when Eklund fell to them. If Eklund was already gone the trade probably would've happened.

Hertl to Vegas
That may be a "fair" deal, but I'm not interested in giving a fair deal to a division rival, especially not Vegas. I'd hope the Sharks are thinking the same.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Reason</b></div><div>I am not saying your wrong but I would like to know which metrics you are using to compare Pettersson to Hertl?
EP is a very solid defensive player and has averaged .92 PPG over his career compared to Hertl's .64PPG.</div></div>
Per https://www.naturalstattrick.com, Hertl had a higher CF%, higher GF% higher xGF% last season, and when Hertl was on, the on-ice SV% was .9108, compared to .8852 for Petersson. Those aren't the only stats that matter, and that last one isn't necessarily the greatest measure of defensive performance, but they do seem to suggest Hertl was the better player last year. I have no doubt that Petersson will reach a higher peak than Hertl ever did, and it will probably happen soon, I would say that if I was ranking them just for right now though I'd take Hertl.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>There’s no order to the list. I ignore everything evolvingwild because everything evolvingwild is stupid.
Hertl over barzal? Seriously? Pettersson? Seguin? Couturier? Actually, that’s a good one to stop on.
Couturier is a legit selke candidate. Physical (more physical than Hertl), awesome defensively (better than Hertl, significantly), outscores Hertl by a wide margin (over the past four seasons .91 points per game vs Hertl’s .78). There’s really no argument for Hertl over Couturier. I do think there is a very good argument for Hertl over some of the players on this list. I don’t think there’s any argument for him being a top 15 center that isn’t loaded with bias and wishful thinking.
Do you actually think that Hertl is better than Toews, Seguin, Barzal, Couturier, Pettersson, Eichel, Malkin, and Backstrom?</div></div>
Couturier and Eichel, those are the two you may have cases on. Barzal and Petersson are worth more because of their age, but RIGHT NOW they are not better than Hertl, and every metric you could think of would back that. And Seguin? Are we still in 2016? as for the others you have on the bottom:
Yes, Yes, Yes, No, Yes, No, Yes, Yes
And I don't "think" he is, there are literally advanced statistics that I posted in my comment that show he's better. You think a 92 percentile player, 20th in the league per GAR projections, is not a top 15 player at his own position?
There is more to evaluating a player than point totals and there are ways to prove someone's abilities without just saying their "awesome defensively"

Nobody from Zibanejad and down is better than Hertl except for Eichel, who you for some reason have at 20. Honestly some of these names makes me think you watch hockey with your eyes closed. Lindholm?? Kuznetsov? Suzuki after one above average year?
These are the stats that matter and show Hertl is top 15-20
