10m X 6 for Marner makes too much sense. With Hyman on LTIR might be able to squeeze in 23 man roster during part of the season.

Yes! This is such an interesting off season with every team's big RFA holding on to dreams of way more than they've been offered... but why would the teams cough it up? Never before have RFAs gotten these kinda dollars. Ask Pastrnak, who recently said how incredible it is to be making such huge $7 million a year playing hockey...

I can tell you with certainty that to date, the Leafs have not put together any offer on any amount of term that has an AAV at or above $10 million.

Because it beats 450k x 1 in the Swiss league. If marner wants to play with the leafs he will take a reasonable offer. Ferris pulled the exact same garbage with Anderson and Athanasiou. They will come to an agreement. Dubas is not going to start dismantling his team to overpay marner.

Marner isn’t worth 8.5M if you really look into it. The dynamics of his game is consistently reliant on Tavares. He is also a liability on Defense. What he wants and what he should get is quite the big difference. He wants 11M for 3 Years via Lebrun. Which is preposterous but whatever.

That is not correct, the Leafs have tabled 3 deals apparently 3xjust under 8, 6 at just under 10 and 8 at just under 11. Ferris countered with 3x10 which the Leafs obviously did not accept.

Dubas and reality. Ferris has done this twice already and lost both times. Asking for a lot more than a player is worth isn't a smart tactic. It's not the 90's when the Bobby Holik's of the world can say I want 9 million and rich teams would just climb over themselves to get him signed. It's a cap world, you have to be smart, Ferris doesn't seem to understand that.
