I've said for months, Leafs need cap, and this type of trade is needed by the Leafs, and Nylander is the logical guy to be traded. As a Leaf, I'd do the trade and it might be about the best offer they would receive....cap relief, mid round !st round and one year of a capable RHD

It's an interesting offer. But still not good enough. But Gudas isn't the guy coming back. If you want Nylander it probably starts with Myers. Not saying the 1st is involved in the deal too, but Myers is the centre piece coming back.

Yep, for Myers, you are absolutely not getting pick #11. Just involving Myers might turn the Flyers off from the deal b/c it becomes a robbing Peter (the young D core) to pay Paul (the young O core) situation. It's more likely we can select a high skill forward at #11 than a D prospect of Myers' caliber in this particular draft at that spot. Given that D typically take longer to develop, the Flyers would stand pat.

Big RHD are harder to come by. That is why we aren’t trading him. As I already stated, the above is an overpay but somehow you still think it’s not enough. That just shows how ridiculous you are being about Nylanders value.

To me it's more about the unknown...Myers in all honesty. Performing really well, but needs to prove it out over more than a few games. THAT'S NOT A KNOCK. It's just opposing fans (any team) won't assume it's nearly the automatic that the home town team does. Nylander is a little different. He had a TERRIBLE year after getting paid a big contract. I don't think he's a prospect anymore. It's just apples and oranges to me.

This is true but also every team in the league knows that the Leafs have to make trades to fit Marner in. Knowing this, you are not going to get top notch offers and as I already stated, this above offer is already an overpay.

Well, it blow me away when I see so many posts keeping Nylander and the Leafs have to trade four starters to make up the 6.5m cap the Leafs are over. So, it isn't so much that Nylander is overpaid or bashed by Leafs fans, it's being cap compliant with and keeping the good lineup in tack.....minus just one piece Nylander.

Well first off, Gudas isn’t horrible, he is better than zaitsev. Second, it’s not Gudas for Nylander, it is 11th overall and filling a need the Leafs have with Gudas.
