So can I get the reasoning behind the Trocheck reversion? Just so Jon and I can have an idea of what we need to do to fix it.
Sure thing, but first, I'll give a general overview of our latest moves.
You guys deserve a more in-depth explanation of our trade revision strategy on September trades. Our job as BOG is to keep the game sustainable and enjoyable for all current and future GMs. The revisions we requested were centered around protecting Florida in this case. We felt that FLA traded 4 of their best players and did not receive proper compensation for now or for the future. This was done within hours of the new GM
@wmjoncar taking over, which gives a "blood in the water" feel to the whole thing. We have seen in the past (v1/v2) how quickly a team can turn into a wasteland by losing all their star players for less valuable ones and not having any top prospects or valuable draft picks to show for it. We made the decision to give GMs a chance to correct/re-balance/remove the trades that we saw as advantageous against a new GM, and we used those trades as a reference point to revert any other trades that were similar. We are not a perfect officiant of the game and we do not expect everyone to agree with every decision we make. But I hope that this helps to explain our rationale and our stance on trade revisions.
As for the Trocheck trade, I won't give specifics on how to adjust trades, because as
@NateElder12 (I think) mentioned last night, the BOG shouldn't be allowed to propose solutions. We've probably messed up in the past to this point, but all we intend to do now is call out the fact that we unanimously thought that ARI got too good of a deal, and send both teams back into the negotation period to come up with a better solution and deliver that to us. I.e. we're not here to make the trades how we want them, we're here to give bad deals a 2nd chance.
If anyone disagrees with this, or if any other BOG members have a stance on this topic, let us know.
