I'd be angry *for* CGY if they made that move. Their ask from CBJ will likely include at least one of Sillinger/ Johnson/ Jiricek. And add on top of that.

Plus, I think Tkatchuk has made his list of preferred destinations pretty clear, even if we know he'd have success playing on Johnny's line.

Chances are if you're not uncomfortable making the trade it's not going to happen. CGY taking on Voraceks contract would set them back years. They respectfully decline

I feel like this is what Calgary are going to get IMO. A top 6 player in Gus + a top prospect in Ceulemans + a 1st round pick. Calgary also going to have free cap space so they take on Voracek's contract for the cost of Chinny. Feel like this is a decent trade for both sides.

I know a lot of people are not as high on guys like Bean or Petterson anymore. But I like where they are for their age. I think CHI would be smart to gamble on a few players in that 23-25 range that aren't working out with clubs that are pushing to win now. It might be a little light on the return, but I would do something like that Murphy trade.

I think Murphy deserves to be on a playoff-bound team at this point in his career. And for anyone that is worried about his concussion status at the end of the season, I think that was more of a front office decision than anything. They shut him down because they were hoping to win the lottery and get that pick back from you guys. Also, because they knew they were not going to the playoffs and didn't see a need to rush him back, and they wanted to see more of some of our younger players that are on the verge of breaking into the NHL.
