So you’d rather have Jarvis who produces at a lower clip given top line quality teammates than Jeannot who is given third line quality teammates and manages to produce? Each their own I guess. Jeannots play style, physicality, and tenacity fit Nashvilles needs more so I’m probably biased as can be.
Don’t get me wrong, I think Jarvis has the higher ceiling… I just think if we look at where we are now and the opportunities that have been afforded the players Jeannot > Jarvis at this particular moment in time. Who knows about next week… I’d love to see Jeannot on Nashvilles second line with Johansen and Kunin. It’d be a very heavy line with a lot more skill than he’s used to

Entering a Rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>josi4norris</b></div><div>You’re correct that there’s no way Minnesota could fit him. He’s scoring at about the same pace as he was during the 18-19 season while playing with Kunin and Cousins though. I would argue this has been his best year in Nashville. Not saying he wouldn’t be tough to unload if Nashville wanted, but he’s much better than people on this website make him out to be.</div></div>
He'd be much easier to move at a $6m/yr price. His $8m/yr contract is just too much for what he brings. It might not be a prime return, but some team would bite on him at that price.

Signing Jack Campbell
NSH isn't paying for Kassian-- but they're not trading for him either way.
And you say they only have 8 forwards signed while leaving out they have two RFAs in Kunin and Trenin that will make that 10. Re-signing Forsberg or another UFA forward is 11. Then they also have Glass who likely starts next season (12), plus Afansyev and Olivier and Novak (if re-signed) as viable options as well. They're not really hurting for forwards-- maybe they could use a top 6 guy, but they have enough bottom 6 options at much cheaper price tags than Kassian.

All the Miller Boeser or Horvat trade possibilities
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CEO</b></div><div>How about replacing Tomacino with Glass+ a 1st?</div></div>
To be honest i don’t think poile would trade that much for one guy. Because I don’t think that one player will help us win the cup. We just strengthen our prospect pool a lot after draining it for years. And this trade would take last years 1st rounder, this years 1st, a player that was a 1st rounder 2 years ago and a big defenseman. That’s a lot to lose for a team who wasn’t supposed to be a contender this year but surprised the league so far. I still have faith glass will turn it around after being injured the last couple years. He just has to get his confidence up. If poile does make a trade I look for it to be someone cheap or someone he can keep long term.

For a team that needs a top six center, maybe - but NSH isn't that team. It's too much to pay for upgrade at wing, which is what NSH would want Miller for. VAN would have more luck getting this kind of return from a team that needs Miller more.

TDL FIL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>josi4norris</b></div><div>If he's their top forward prospect then I guess COL would be fine sending Newhook to NSH instead of Olausson, unless you don't consider him a prospect anymore. Switch those two and I think you get NSH talking.</div></div>
Newhook is a rookie but not a prospect. The Avs expect him to contribute this season, then take over for Kadri the next. Byram also is playing in the Rookie Showcase and is not a prospect.
Forsberg is your run of the mill TDL rental. As a NSH fan, one might look around the league and see several tantalizing young trade targets. The question is: are teams actually willing to part with them?
The Avs top prospects are, in no order: Olausson, Barron, Ranta, & Helleson. You could surely sub a 1st for one of these, but COL doesn't own a 1st in the 22 draft. I think Olausson has the best raw talent and highest upside, and will already be developing in Barrie by the TDL. After one AHL season he should be NHL ready.

They'd be giving up the top goalie prospect in the NHL, their top forward prospect, and a potential early 1st round pick. They get to dump two bad contracts, but they take an even worse one back. I don't think NSH uses any picks/top prospects to dump Johansen or Duchene. I also don't think Buffalo adds Skinner to an Eichel trade to decrease his value dramatically.</div></div>
Completely agree. Buffalo already has 3 decent goalie prospects as well so this would kinda clog the pipeline.
Sabres need Skinner contract to hit the cap floor, he also has a NTC. Nashville should be focused on rebuilding, rather then giving up their best futures for a shot at being a middle teir team.

Nashville is in the beginning of an announced "competitive rebuild". We can absorb Duchene's caphit. Zucker isn't a rebuild move. Trading a prospect the team was so high on that they traded up to get him is a non-starter.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>josi4norris</b></div><div>I don’t think NSH accepts the trade either. I think they’d rather just re-sign Forsberg. I don’t see what you see when you say he has been regressing significantly since 2018. Yes, he had a career year in 2018 but I wouldn’t consider going from 64 pts in 67 games to 32 pts in 39 games a significant regression, especially when Forsberg drives his line regardless of who he plays with.</div></div>
The deal is contingent on Poile’s commitment to youth. Considering the Ellis trade, I figure he’s likely to try to roll the dice on an unproven prospect. And for you Sharangovich lovers in the comment section, he’s not worth as much as you think. He’s a 5th round pick who’s played one season and has shown potential. That’s a far cry from Forsberg: a proven NHL star.

They might get what they are asking, IF they allow Eichel his surgery and show he isn't impacted by it. Otherwise they can sit on him, allow his health to degrade and his performance to be affected, then trade him for peanuts in comparison.

ELLIS NOOOOOOO
Myers + Glass is pretty exciting for NSH, but it does hurt to lose Ellis. I do feel like they still could've gotten something like a 3rd out of PHI -- then I'd be a bit happier. But all in all, at least Poile is trying to make some changes, so that's something.

In this scenario, I went with protecting the 5 d + Forsberg, Kunin, and Jarnkrok. The trades happen after.
But if the trades happened before expansion, I’d do the 4 defense + Forsberg, Bertuzzi, Kunin, Konecny. That would likely leave Jarnkrok exposed. If he were to get selected, I could see Granlund or Haula being re-signed or giving Pitlick a chance to play. There needs to be some cap left for re-signing Forsberg and Ekholm, so Granlund may end up being too expensive.

Maybe a bit much. Though Poile is much less likely to trade Ekholm than he was a few months ago, his value will have gone down a bit, as the buyer would only get him for one post-season with now. It's still a 1st+ or 2nd++ though. Kind of depends on how good the prospect coming back with the draft pick is. The OP is still much too low to be taken seriously by the Preds.

Competitive
It's quite interesting, and part of me would love to see it, but just too risky. Aside from relying heavily on too many rookies to step in and contribute right away as you mentioned, I don't think there's much depth left. When a few inevitable injuries happen, there aren't really any capable replacements left in the system.
After next season there won't be enough cap space to retain or replace players like Forsberg, Ekholm, and Kunin, and the next wave of NHL ready young players have all been traded away to SEA and BUF here. Their talent pool would be too thin for NSH to be competitive after 21-22. You'd only get one season out of this lineup, and everything would have to go absolutely perfectly (no rookie hiccups, no major injuries, no key players having an off year). It could be a really fun ride, but way too big of a gamble for me.
