Description
Not looking for ARI-NSH specific trades, what’s Jeannot worth? What NSH need at the TDL that could work in a trade for him? Obviously he’s having a good season and nsh realistically doesn’t move him but still curious to see what a generic return for him is. Honestly haven’t kept up with NSH much so I honestly have no idea what their needs/wants are currently

If someone has a specific realistic trade between NSH and Whoever then go ahead and throw it in the comments. Like I said I’m just not sure what NSH needs so not even going to try and throw something together cause of that

    Uh they need Tanner Jeannot...

You know he's going to finish like top 5 in Calder voting right? They are going to make the playoffs in part due to his success, they would be mad to move him

    Who's he finishing above?

    Seider?
    Raymond?
    Zegras?
    Mercer?
    Nedeljkovic?
    Bunting?

He's not going to finish top 5, but he'll get some votes. Whether he deserves to be top 5 or not is a different conversation, but its very unlikely he actually does it.

Jeannot would cost at least seven Jeff Petrys (Petries?).

Of course they need him, and why it says “realistically don’t trade him” above, but in all honesty no nhl player is ever untouchable if they’re really wanted that bad, someone will overpay for him if that’s what they want. And I’m not saying NSH doesn’t need him or is even thinking about moving him. Simply what’s a return for him look like?

    1st, 1st, 2nd and top prospect?

Or do they want top line forward or top line dman for him with a picks?

All you need is for Poile to fall, hit his head, and think he's in a different century and you have yourself a deal!

If Nashville were forced to trade him, I think it would be for a top forward and a couple 1st round picks or top prospects.

Curiosity, if you don’t want to discuss it move on, no one made you type in a post that has a zero chance of happening, if you want to throw out something hypothetical and constructive then by all means please do

If you want to bicker about final Calder trophy results I can make a post on that to but really what’s the point of discussing it half way through the season. Top 5 could get Tom Wilson’d and be out for rest of the season sooooo who cares :-D

Fairly certain Nedeljkovic does not qualify since he played 32 games last year. Playoffs do count AFAIK.

I would personally put him ahead of Mercer, especially considering Nashville's success this year after being written off. The dark horse that may pass him is Boldy though

No, Nedeljkovic is calder eligible again. Playoff games do not count.

If you want to take team success into account, why not Seth Jarvis? Lundell?

They could all be in the running but I think you are definitely undervaluing Jeannot here. Point is still made that Nashville is not trading him just for the sake of making a trade

Oh I never disagreed with that.

    Jennot has 14+14 in 49.

    Lundell has 10 + 22 in 44.

    Jarvis has 8 + 10 in 38.

I could be, my understanding is that he has been a very effective 3rd liner this year as a rookie and was for a time leading all rookies in goals. He seems to have a very solid defensive game too. I think at worst he will get top 10 in voting and could get top 5

Top 10, 100%. But Lundell in himself might be a Selke candidate and he's outscoring Jeannot. Jeannot also played games last year, which will impact voting a little. Lundell didn't.

Lundell>Jeannot>Jarvis. I think the reason that they're taking team success into account is because nobody expected Nashville to be in the playoff race. Everybody knew Carolina would be, and Carolina would be regardless if Jarvis was on the team or not. Jeannot has been a huge piece of Nashville's success this year. Of the three players you mentioned, the only one that will be in the top 5 for Calder voting will be Lundell. I've got Lundell, Boldy, Seider, Zegras, and Raymond for my top 5 in no particular order.
