Thinking out loud
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dpdan</b></div><div>I guess that my issue is if Palmieri is going to cost a 1st anyways, I’d rather go one step further and include Studs and maybe another prospect to get Garland who helps them for this year and the future. I get that AZ wants a high pick and if a team with a top pick want to trade it for CG then I’d tip my cap to them, but if I’m Sweeney I’m calling everyday till I get an answer</div></div>
The management doesn't want to trade Studnicka because they see him as top6 C after Krejci/Bergeron are gone and he's the only forward/center with top6 upside, that's why they're reticent to include him in a deal (teams probably tried to acquire him in the past). I understand their decision but I get your point too.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsCharlies</b></div><div>Why doesn't Arizona just sign Garland for about what they would be paying DeBrusk and be done with it if he's the better player?</div></div>
Boom, nailed it.
How hard is it to understand that the only reason they are even considering moving Garland is to cut payroll next year and not have to pay him what he gets in arbitration. Taking on Debrusk just negates that. It’s not rocket science. Glad to see someone gets it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>You clearly haven't watch the Hawks. He's been on their top pair for a little bit now. BUT on the other hand you might have been watching because he's on your to pair too. So it kinda seems like you know you're trying to take advantage of another team in which case just offer a 7th rounder for Kane half retained. The Hawks will protect Zadorov at expansion.</div></div>
I think this is a bit more passive aggressive then I would have taken in rejecting this trade but yeah Chicago rejects.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jdfitz77</b></div><div>No, not close
Even though he’s “unhappy” we’re losing, he’s still under contract for 5 more years
So we’re in no hurry to accept an offer where you’d get him at a deal
Plus about half the league will be bidding on him
It’s gonna take Carlo +++
And that’s if we’d even consider trading him to the Buins,
& there’s a good chance we wouldn’t</div></div>
Boston is better off waiting to see if Barkov hits UFA after next year. Cost no assets and imo Barkov is a better all around player.

Future without the current Core
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mhockey91</b></div><div>They need to draft a C this year if available</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dpdan</b></div><div>I’m curious to see how many of their C prospects end up on the wing. Pool is very shallow in that department compared to other positions. Studs and Frederick come to mind. I know the team likes them in the middle ling term, but Studs especially won’t play any real minutes at C this year.
Which brings me to a question:
I know that any time an ACGM team comes out with Studs on the 4th line everyone immediately dismisses it. But hear me out: his coaches at Providence loved his 200 foot game and put him the PK1. Cassidy has already given him PK minutes in camp showing what he thinks of Studnika’s defensive game. Would giving him some time on the 4th line be such a waste of his time? If he’s going to stick in Boston this year after Pasta comes back where does he play? The top 3 lines are set at center and RW so does he spend the year in Providence again developing more at center or get more reps at the NHL level sliding up and down the line up? Also consider just how bad the 4th line was last year (on both ends of the ice). Does getting a little more skill on that line help?
Just curious to see what people think</div></div>
Nah of course this is where the speculation comes in, Freddy, Beecher, Stud, Becker, Steen are all Center prospects that could certainly crack the roster
But then there is Stud who can play RW, Freddy might move to LW, Steen is starting to look like a Rw, so who knows. Obviously there is nothing wrong with drafting Centers cuz it seems like its easier to move from C to Wing than from Wing to C...
<a href="/users/dpdan" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@dpdan</a> to your next point. I honestly dont know. I feel like 4th line minutes wont be good for him, but I am also not an NHL coach / GM... Also yeah this is why I hated the Smith signing. Im sure he is a good middle 6 guy, but between Stud, Kase, Bjork, Coyle, and a bunch of other guys, it creates the problem where they dont have space for some of these guys to play now! who knows but all good points yall

Tampa Solution
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLBRIAN</b></div><div>well they have to do something. Any Tampa team I have made, regardless of who I trade, I get responses like yours. Tampa won't trade them or can't. They have to do something!
As for Detroit side of things, I think they should do it. Johnson can still play and is a good player and they get an amazing piece in Cirelli. Would help them out a lot.</div></div>
aedoran is pretty level headed. This isn't directed at him. But I hear ya. I've created many Tampa ACGM rosters on here too and most responses are negative. They basically just parrot each other from what they've all read on Spector's, HF boards, TSN, etc. There's no original thought. No one's splitting the atom here. They just like hearing themselves talk. They'll continue repeating themselves ad nauseum. It's quite hilarious actually.
As for Tampa, you're right. Something has to happen. And it will. My guess is they'll somehow get out of cap jail and all the jealous non Tampa fans will cry and complain and be angry that they didn't bleed through their noses like they should've.
But don't let the CFACGM geniuses get you down. None of these guy's are being paid by NHL teams. In their minds trades can never happen because they just can't. I always say that I could travel in the future to one year from now and find out all future trades for the next year.
Then travel back to now and post every one of these trades on CF ACGM and I'd be told by the resident wannabe expert CF ACGM geniuses that these trades can never happen. That's CF ACGM for you.

Building up D
Its an interesting thought, one i havent seen on here. I just think BOS would want to trade for someone with more experience, and as much as i like Brannstrom and his ceiling, hes yet another smallish defensemen. I just think the B's will lean toward someone a little bigger, who has experience, and can eat minutes, rather than a guy who might be a Torey Krug type player (could be better, who knows) down the road, and prone to mistakes in the present particularly on a contending team. Like i said, its an interesting thought for sure.

Get Johnson and Cernak from Tampa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dpdan</b></div><div>Can you say what those sources are? I found a youtube video that references a Russian twitter account as the only ones reporting that.
And what’s the difference between waiving for Detroit vs waiving for NJ? The Devils have a roster that is probably closer to contending than the Red Wings. Personally, I’d rather just stay on the Lightning then go to any of the teams that have the cap space to take the contract.</div></div>
I live outside of Tampa and there's been rumblings of a deal sending Tyler Johnson and Tampa's 2021 1st round pick to Detroit for Henrik Zetterberg and others have mentioned it as well, We shall see i personally don't see Johnson waiving for Detroit or any bottom team. But who know's.

There's absolutely noway either Cirelli or Sergachev are signing for $3 million each, I see Cirelli coming in at slightly over $4 million and Sergachev signing the McAvoy deal 3 x $4.9M more or less.

I have a feeling the B's are gonna roll with what they got at LHD. With expansion looming, bringing in a player with term on their deal means theyre leaving Gryz exposed, or leaving the player they just gave up assets for exposed. I think theyre gonna go with some of the young guys, and if it continues to be a problem theyll address it during the year/deadline
