Considering the Oilers have no legitimate prospects to offer that would make sense but they also can save a 1st and trade for Tarasenko.

He is. It's just facts. Killer slapshot(when he takes it), good physically, can and has stopped his fair share of two on ones, shot blocking machine, doesn't get the credit on the stat sheet but he starts a lot of plays. He is one of the reasons(besides Josi), that our d-core has historically been one of the deepest in the league and our team is just a defensive PIPELINE. Weber, Subban, Muzzin, Suter, Jones and Girard have been just some that we've trained up.

(EDM/CAR) - Puljujärvi for Puistola
Edmonton - Clear 3M of "dead cap" and pick up a decent prospect with NHL upside who's looked great in Liiga this year.
Carolina - Trade a prospect from their tree of wealth in exchange for a struggling FINN with potential. Don't think picking up his full cap was a smart move, but they reunite Poolparty with his WJC Gold Medal comrade
Edmonton W, but could possibly become an even trade.

Win for the Devils in my opinion. They receive a coveted power forward under their control who fits right in with the age of the core. On paper it may look a lot but the guy is proven. Also… Meier > Eichel. Just had to sorry.

Bad day for all the clowns on CF yelling about how Meier was going to get a dragon haul, and I say that as someone who likes Zetterlund.
A late 1st (maybe 2?), a b prospect, a ****ty 'A' prospect (Mook sucks lol), a cap dump, a 7th (very important), and a decent young depth guy. LMAO
Devils kept all of their valuable prospects and got TIMO MEIER (who is an RFA, not UFA)

The Devils still have Nemec, L. Hughes, Holtz, Sharangovich, Bahl, and Mercer. They got one of the best wingers in the league and didn't hurt their future or their present in the slightest. Grier is either a prophet who can see into the future or just delusional. This is horrible for San Jose IMO, although I do like Zetterlund as a get. They didn't even get 2 first round picks which would have been the very least NJD could've offered
In Grier's defense, it might have been a harder sell to most contenders given Meier's ridiculously high QO. NJD is in a position to buy and also have the necessary cap space to extend Meier. That is the only possible way this return can be justified, although I find a lack of interest in Meier due to his QO to be a pretty big stretch. Can't say I'm surprised given how lackluster Grier's trades have been though, can't wait for Edmonton to add EK65 for Cody Ceci

That is a cheap price for Savard when you are saving 2.75M in cap. Bourgault heritage pushes it over the top for the Habs otherwise they'd want something equivalent to a 1st without giving up a pick to the degree of a 2nd.

Edmonton knows how HOORNY Montreal is to trade for Bourgault they would have to overpay in a trade. Edmonton doesn't touch this trade.

or they can have him instead of chychrun
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>I think you misunderstand what I was saying, so let me break it down better
Barrie for Eddy with no retention maybe gets Montreal a 3rd or 4th. With retention though that jumps significantly since you are not only getting Eddy for 1.75 mil for 2 years but also saving an additional 2.75 mil per year so you have to add a 1st for that aspect of it.
Anderson isn't someone Montreal wants to move so they want a 1st for him and if you want 4 years of retention and to add another 3 mil to the deal on top of that you are going to have to give up at least 3 top assets that would hurt to lose (Bouchard, Schaefer and Bourgault). Yamamoto offers no value to the Habs, since we are overflowing with bottom 6 wingers and have Pitlick on a cheaper deal who is similar to Yamamoto. Now if you drop the retention on both then the deal works out fair as Barrie + Puljujarvi + Foegele 2023 1st + 2023 2nd for Eddy and Josh. That is 10.25 mil out and 9 in for the Oilers.</div></div>
To begin with, this proposal doesn't include retention on Edmundson despite your reference to, and reliance on, it in both of your comments.
Second, I disagree with your evaluation that "Barrie for Edmundson with no retention gets Montreal maybe a 3rd or 4th" because I contend that Barrie is both the better and more valuable player, for the reasons I set forth in my earlier comment.
Our discussion about Anderson is at cross purposes because your premise is that he has to be pried from Montreal's hands, whereas I was assuming that the Canadiens are making a hockey trade. To put it another way, you're factoring in a significant value to persuading the Canadiens to make the trade at all. Let's put that aspect of the deal aside, then. I would project that the Oilers would offer you Barrie for Edmundson with 50% retention, perhaps with a middling draft pick because they might be eager to cut cap. If that isn't appealing, I don't think that Edmonton is going to offer you a draft pick alone, first or otherwise, for Edmundson due to their cap situation; just like Los Angeles (the other team we see so often in Edmundson trade proposals), the Oilers have to send some cap back to make Edmundson fit even with retention. But even taking everything you say about Anderson as accurate, including the value analysis, the original proposal is not as egregiously ridiculous as your initial, almost reflexive reaction implies. My major reason for saying that is that I'm convinced that over the long term, it would be better for Montreal to have Yamamoto at the same price as Anderson or, at the very least, not worse.

They would without hesitation. Barrie has been a production machine threwout his career playing the most premium position right d he’s worth a lot more than gets credited for on this site. Remember that risto guy who everyone called a cap dump until Philly gave up a first for him?

10 player trade with Ottawa amp Edmonton
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PLDGEY</b></div><div>This is a super laughably bad trade offer.
EDM offers 3 cap dumps (Kosk/Turris/Kassian), an old depth D, a prospect who wont crack the roster and two future 2nds.
What EDM offered as value-positive doesnt even pay for the cap dump. This offer doesnt get accepted for Future considerations from OTT, let alone asking for Brannstrom.
Dadonov can be traded for a pick, tierney can be traded for a pick.
OTT is literally losing the 3 most valuable pieces involved in this trade.</div></div>
I think the Branstrom is the only valuable piece in the trade. Dadonov could be moved for a pick sure, but Tierney & Murray are pure cap relief, Same with Turris and Koskinen. Kassian is still valued by some and has a lower hit than Dadonov which covers the pick. So Tierney at 3.5 & Murray at 6.2 for Koskinen 4.5 and Turris 1.6 is a win for Ottawa with less money and term. So then it is Mete & Branstrom for Russell and Lagesson and 2 seconds. I think that Ottawa values what Russell and Kassian would bring.
So while I recognise this isn't a trade that I would make it I were the Sens, and it doesn't sound like you would either. I don't see how it is laughable when the Sens are clearing a lot of money and term, picking up 2 2nds and given how little they used Branstrom and Mete not likely to be much worse off.
