MTL
  1. Bourgault, Xavier
  2. Ceci, Cody
  3. Puljujärvi, Jesse
Détails additionnels:
Habs will take a more ready prospect over a pick in 2024. They already have 14 picks this year. They need to capitalize and taking a cap dump in Ceci for 3 years wont hurt. Puljujarvi wont be resigned. He's headed back to Liiga next season and wont be qualified. He simply doesnt have the instincts at this level and nobody wants to play with him.
EDM
  1. Savard, David
  2. Choix de 2e ronde en 2024 (COL)
Détails additionnels:
Playing top4 mins. Blocks a ton of shots so, of course, his metrics are bad when pucks are in his chest. Already traded for a 1st and 3rd in 2021, his value has only improved with a bigger role on Montreal. Edm needs to go all IN and blowing all these leads demands a shakeup on defence. Nurse-Ceci are a horror show. Pool Party is another Craig Smith cap dump to make the money work. The 2nd rnd pick can be used to add more pieces. The Oilers need to dump whatever is valuable to go in the next 2-3 years. They gain 2.75M in cap space which is worth the downgrade from Bourgault to a 2nd, alone, forget the Savard Ceci swap.

  1. Choix de 3e ronde en 2024 (WPG)
WPG
  1. Dadonov, Evgeni (2 500 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
A good Perfetti replacement. He s been much better lately with 5 pts in 7 games and is a good pro, always last off the ice and a workout freak.
3.
MTL
  1. Choix de 2e ronde en 2023 (DET)
  2. Choix de 2e ronde en 2023 (STL)
DET
  1. Dvorak, Christian
  2. Primeau, Cayden
Détails additionnels:
Larkin insurance. Dvorak still has a great rep around the league. He wont get the same price of a 1st and a 2nd in the offseason but there are no decent centers available rn I mean Sam Lafferty price is supposed to be HUGE! The deadline prices are always higher than the offseason when money is more tight.
4.
MTL
  1. Leschyshyn, Jake
  2. Choix de 5e ronde en 2024 (NYR)
Détails additionnels:
Kane retention at 25%
NYR
5.
MTL
  1. Gurianov, Denis
  2. Khudobin, Anton
  3. Kyrou, Christian [Liste de réserve]
Détails additionnels:
Kyrou upside is a bottom pair, PP2 guy according to Scott Wheeler recent rankings. 2 cap dumps for the stars to go fishing.
DAL
  1. Hoffman, Mike (2 250 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
Hoffman been on a tear, lately, with 8 pts his last 8 games. Dallas cant score outside their top line. Marchment has been ice cold for 2 months without a goal. The extra year retention turns maybe a 3rd round pick to a 2nd or a bit more.

Winnipeg isn't wasting a 3rd on a healthy scratch. Dadonov with 4 goals playing top 6 minutes isn't worth anything.

I was going to argue there was no way EDM takes that but when considering everything I think EDM definitely considers it if they can’t get the guy they want.

That is a cheap price for Savard when you are saving 2.75M in cap. Bourgault heritage pushes it over the top for the Habs otherwise they'd want something equivalent to a 1st without giving up a pick to the degree of a 2nd.

The wheels on the Jets bus are coming off, they shouldn't be buying.

The problem seems to be the West is too weak for anyone to pass them. The Wild seem to be stuck in neutral and the Flames are lost. The Oilers really need to be aggressive here, its getting late.

Pretty sure the Wild are only one point behind the Jets now.

Except they are already in a playoff spot. I simply meant that they cant even fall off far enough without any teams closely chasing.

I’ve always liked Christian Dvorak but, with two years left on his deal around $5m and a NTC that kicks in next year might be too steep.

Yeah like they'll probably make the playoffs unless Calgary goes on a roll which seems unlikely, ultimately though even if they stumble into the playoffs they shouldn't waste assets on this group, they just aren't close to good enough and one Dadonov doesn't bring them any closer to being good enough.

True its very tough to stomach and probably holds back a deal but if ever there was a time to trade him, its NOW! There is nothing available in the middle on the market, if Hughes gets creative, it's something he should pursue. The Hawks are asking a 2nd for Sam Lafferty who's the type of player you find on the scrap heap in July.

I still think David Savard is their best trade chip as a RHD, he's played the best hockey of his career.

I agree that is very steep considering both of those 2nd round pick are in the same draft. Also there are a couple of players on Detroit that could easily be traded even if Detroit makes the playoffs, so acquiring another 2nd or 2 is quite possible. Two 2nd rd picks is a good amount of draft capitol in any draft and especially so in a draft as deep as this one. Once you get out of the top 15 to 20 picks 2 2nds could easily be traded for a 1st. No matter how unlikely if Larkin does leave Detroit having Dvorak would definitely help but I think there are at least 3 players who would be ahead of him in Detroit's depth chart. At this point is Primeau still an NHL goalie? It's not like Allen and Montembeault are having stellar seasons, I thought we would have seen Primeau more at this point.
