Why not? Barrie and Miller have similar skill-sets, although Barrie has a long history of playing at a higher level.

You know when you get so many Sabre fans not liking this trade it makes it very obvious why they have missed the playoffs in forever.
While Barrie has defensive shortcomings he would be a perfect third pairing with Samuelsson.
He would absolutely flourish playing for Granato, and when his contract expired just may resign with Buffalo.
Trade for Barrie, resign Pysyk and at least Buffalo would have 3 RHD for next year.

Miller isn’t really the right kinda partner for Power either
If we kept Miller, we’d want him as our RD3
I don’t think we’d wanna slot Barrie in at RD3
He’s an offensive defenseman that we wouldn’t end up using offensively bc we have Dahlin & Power

I just don’t see where Barrie fits in there

It’s not that i think Barrie is a bad player,
just not the right “fit” for us
I think we’d rather just get a good draft pick for Miller
And like i said, Pysyk i a guy i think we’d wanna keep
