You guys do understand that just because a guy gets offer sheeted doesn't mean the team owning the rights loses him right? This shouldn't be a huge issue.

Absolutely understand. Its become more about a principle than about the friggin offer sheeting for me now.

I hear that part, its just a question on should the home team get first dibs.

The BOE also has to agree to the Offer Sheet. Meaning, you cannot just Offer Sheet Nikita Zadorov for 2M x 7 years. The way that Offer Sheets work is the same way it does in real life, only the BOE assumes player rights, as it does in the "arbitration hearings." If a team goes too low, the BOE counters. If the team gets it right, or goes higher, the BOE will likely accept the terms.

If we just did "force Offer Sheets", it would be the same thing in v1 with RFAs. You can basically sign players to whatever the heck you want and then carry on.

Obviously the contract has to be reasonable and the home team does still hold all the cards since they can match any offer or get compensation for it. these players didn't sign irl as of Sept 15 so they should be open to offer sheets with no restrictions

No they should not. All three players' GM's have expressed interest in resigning them, and would if permitted so let's let them sign the players and move on guys.

Yes they weren't signed IRL but maybe as of Sept 16th at 12:01am (In game) there respective teams had signed them? Does that not work? They signed them to a contract ahead of the offer sheet being submitted.....Why is that not a viable option?

You cannot terminate a contract simply because it is convenient to you. Do you have any evidence of a particular contract that warrants contract termination?

Cameron Darcy and Brian Hart were both released IRL. Would like to get them off the books to open contract spots

They were released yesterday or 2 days ago. I assume it should be okay to do the same here?

2-1; the RFA Offer Sheet Rule passes.

GMs can file for arbitration by simply saying "I would like to file for arbitration for player xyz." The BOE will respond with a date and instructions.

If you want to Offer Sheet a player, simply sate "I would like to file an Offer Sheet for player xyz. Here are the terms:". The BOE will either accept or decline the offer sheet. If the offer sheet is too extreme, the BOE will reject it and arbitration can be filed.

Ya. I assume it's like Sobotka where you hold the rights but it doesn't count against cap

Sobotka's case occurred with salary arbitration, the real life arbitration, when he was with the Blues in 2014. I am not sure if it still applies to Offer Sheets. I would have to look into it more

I submit an offer sheet for Josh Anderson 2.15M x 2 years.

I submit an offer sheet for Nikita Zadorov for 2.15M x 2 years.

There now Cap can match and sign the players.
