With the "studs" spread out over 31 teams, there are few dominant pairings.
I'll go with Calgary, Nashville (if Ellis wasn't injured)Minni.

NYR has a good top pair, but not one of the very best.
I like San Jose's, but with Vlasic over Martin.

Columbus is one of the best IMO, they aren't flashy but the point of defense is to regain possession and turning it into offense, but Seth Jones is fantastic and Werenski is a shot suppression machine.
Calgary is the other. Giordano and Hamilton are just two great players.
I have a hard time saying NAS because Ellis will be missed. Ottawa's defense is Karlsson and no one can really fill his role on that team. I think Hjammer is going to let OEL be the offensive minded player he is but they are just going to be very good. Provorov is going to be great but MacDonald is going to sink that pairing like an anchor.

Except that isn't the pairing. Martin plays with Burns, and Vlasic plays with Braun
