I've personally always thought so, but curious to hear your guyses thoughts.

He did not deserve that Norris

The word "overrated" is overrated. IMO

Doughty is solid. If you don't like the guy fine, but he is one of the best in the league. Hands down. Not the best but one of the best.

Let's put it this way: at the $7 million he currently makes, I would take him over almost any other non-Karlsson defensemen at the moment.

It's almost getting to the point where the reaction to Doughty's norris has made him underrated.

It was like his Revenant. The Norris he won felt more like it was for a body of work rather than being the best defender that year. But he is good very good. He's in my top five for defenseman in the league.

One of the best overall D's in the game. His offense isn't "outstanding" but his defensive game is one of the best.

He's top 3 IMO. I still think Karlsson should have won that Norris.

Karlsson totally deserved it more. I have Doughty bouncing between 3 and 4 with Hedman IMO. Which I would in a heartbeat take Doughty on my team. I don't know though I still think that the biggest shock from those awards was that Beauchemin got a vote.

It's hard to put a value on what Doughty does. He performs as arguably the best shut down player in the league, and still puts up 40 points regularly. That's not something you commonly get. I'd put him as the 4th best defenseman in the league, behind Karlsson, Hedman and Burns. But it's not like he's far away from any of them. He manages to do so much to wow you when you watch him, and you still don't notice half of his impact on the ice. Crazy.

He is a fine defenseman, top 10 in the leauge

consistently in the top 5. but as shown just because you have a top dman it does not mean always success for your team.

Definitely Top 25 in the league, but he is extremely overrated.

Drew Doughty is not overrated. I'd call him the best d-man in the league, and he's top 3 for sure. Karlsson, Burns, or Hedman could be put ahead of him but i'd call him #1 and he's definitely top 3.
