Replace Dach with Anderson, and add the Canes first going back the other way. Then it's reasonable.

Honestly I would be a bit intrigued by it. If they felt he could improve, he's still young. Maybe be like an be Eriksson Ek type player. I think of they retained 820K would make it a touch better for us, that's about the buyout. But yeah if it didn't work out, it would be a tough one to swallow. One positive though, if it didn't work out after like two years, the buyout is still cheap.

I would do this if I was Yzerman. It's a good bet that he improves and he can be spotted on the third line with Berggren/Fabbri/Rasmussen to help him out. There are also plenty of interesting prospects to have with that 4th round pick. It would give both Kasper and Danielson another year to grow in GR and another year before we have to rid ourselves of Copp which will make it a lot cheaper to do so.

don't know he's kind like the second coming of Kasperi Kapanen. Even at $4M he still has 6 seasons left on his contract and at the end of next season his 10 team NTC kicks in. So I get why Carolina fans are eager to ship him out. We did have 11 forwards with more points and if he's going to play more of a defensive role. We already have Compher and Copp . I say we just give Yeleno $2M and call it a day.

Habs don’t need to dump Anderson right now. And we’ll just keep Dach and the 5th pick over Necas easily. Habs pass

The only way you are getting a top 6 C in Dach and the 5th overall pick from the Habs is rather

    1) Jarvis is also in the trade for Necas
    2) a lot of picks coming back and Cans take on a bad contract

Necas is an good top 6 option but honestly isn’t that much of an upgrade on Dach ( when healthy I think Dach is actually better than Necas just health concerns are there)

Most Habs fans would just take Dach, Savard, the 1st and Necas out of the deal. Its not even remotely close to making sense for Montreal.

I don’t think anything between us and Montreal makes sense. They just don’t have anything we’d want (that they’d be willing to part with ofc)

I agree with this the most, was testing the waters to get reactions, considering the Habs are interested in Necas.

Dach is seen as Habs 2C for the future.
Canes are in win-now mode. There's more incentive for the Habs to include Mike Matheson in the deal.
Now... if Canes are not interested in Matheson, fair enough.
The reason why there are so few trades in the NHL is because needs don't mesh perfectly.

    Cheers buddy!

NOTE: Hopefully, the bad blood between the Habs and Canes is gone... since idiot Bergevin is gone. I'm a Habs fan, and I HATED that GM.
