I think aim higher than Pelletier. I want roster player. Maybe 1st + Van 1st + Mangiapane (50% retention)

Stamkos isn't signing with a bottom feeder.

laugh Rob Blakes isn't eating $10,500,000 on PLD for a bunch of nothing. Rob Blake laugh at that offer.

With *checks notes* Matheson as your number 1 D and Montembeualt as your starter?

I can confidently name 13 more teams in the East that will be better than Montreal next year.

    Bubble team

And this is without talking about the super lopsided LA trade

Stamkos doesn't fit and you gave him a horrid contract

Why did you included Alex Turcotte in the deal but not sign him ? You got lost in this hell ?

Los Angeles isn't going to retain on DuBois, particularly when the other team has oodles of cap space and especially if it means ADDING cap for 2024-2025!!

I actually think this is somewhat realistic.

Stamkos could totally sign on an up-and-coming team with young talent that isn't that far from being a playoff team, especially with the generous term you gave him.

The Flames should absolutely take that deal. They get Tij unless Columbus takes him, and Pelletier is a low price to pay for swapping picks. For Montreal, they get to rehabilitate a young, Quebecois player with potential in Pelletier, although Montreal should probably get another mid-draft pick along with Pelletier. Maybe a 3rd or 4th?

The PLD deal is great for the Kings (although I doubt they retain on Dubois if they're also taking on Anderson). They get out of Dubois' hellish, almost unmovable contract and only take on significant cap back for three seasons. They also get a valuable roster player in Harris and a second round pick, and at this point, Turcotte's value is low.

The Petersen deal isn't great for Montreal, though. Murchison's value isn't worthing taking on Petersen.

The point of the Dubois trade is to show Kings fans the narrow window to get out of his contract before his NMC kicks in than or else your stuck with him. 1.5 mill retention over 7 years isn't going to break the bank and no team will take him at 8.5/mil per year

I love Pelletier but if he’s the only difference between 9 and 5 I’m taking that deal and running to the table. I’d even give you Mangiapane retained too if you wanted him.

I don’t think it’s necessary for either team. In my opinion, Lindstrom will be available when it’s Montreal’s turn to pick and he’s the obvious pick. Ottawa, Utah and Seattle all probably want to draft a Defenseman this cycle. Especially if Parekh, Buium, and Dickinson are available. There are just better players available before Calgary’s pick.

All good points. Habs have cap space to take on Petersen's contract. Flyers would love the cap space as well. The price for this transaction isn't really all that expensive perhaps a 4th rder instead of Murchison

Sounds like a great plan for the GM to trade from a point of weakness lmao

Nah it's not worth it just to jump up 4 spots, if he's there at 9 we'll take him if not then we still get a solid prospect.

Don't forget that we Anaheim fans are lusting after Levshunov if Chicago doesn't take him and there's also Silayev, not to mention the Demidov wild card. I think that there's an appreciable chance that Montreal will have a choice between the two forwards.

Calgary only even considers this if Lindstrom or Iginla is still available at 5th. Otherwise news flash Habs fans nobody is going to accept lowball offers for and players for Montreal and especially not for French players just because you claim you don't really want them yet have them in every second trade (always at less than they're worth).

The Kings will not retain for 7 years on Dubois. Take Anderson out of this trade and still no.

Blake has already said that Dubois will not be bought out or traded this summer. They're going to try to turn him into a serviceable player.
