The Chicago and LA Kings trades are especially brutal and one-sided... Vegas and St Louis is also pretty bad for the teams.

Marner isn't worth Seth Jones, a retained Taylor Hall, a 1st round prospect, and two picks... I don't think Hawks would trade Seth Jones one for one for Marner.

Cowan is not a prospect the Leafs are going to give up. He was the OHL MVP this year. The kid is gonna be good. I would like to stay away from Spurgeon at his age and with his injury issues regardless. Rossi would be a good add but Minnesota needs a Centre so I think the opt to keep him. IDK what Gustavsson is lol.

The Islanders one is interesting for sure. The Leafs wouldn't have to worry about a goalie for 8 years. Sorokin just signed an extension though and that may cause a rift between players and management.

I do think there is potentially for a Leaf-Blues trade, but I think it is more likely that the Blues offer Buchnevich before Kyrou.

No chance Leafs consider Gibson - he is a bad goalie on an awful contract.
Same for Jones - not a bad player, but an awful contract.

Calgary declines. They wouldn't trade Andersson or Coleman alone for Marner. The only value Marner has to Calgary is less than the late 1st + B prospect they could flip him for at the deadline with 50% retention.

Even that would be risky. What if he gets injured or refuses to waive for anyone other than a team that offers less than Calgary paid for him?

Hawks are out. That's just way too much for Marner.
