Description
Draft Targets
Zeev Buium - Try hard to get him, would make the future of the defense extremely dynamic with Drysdales legs and range, and Buiums intelligence, manipulation and offensive genius.

Michael Hage - Underated Center who I expect to rise a lot on boards as people begin to round out their boards. Has fairly good upside and could be a nice value pick.

PHL can still make it in.
They just need to beat WSH and hope DET drops a game. They almost lost tonight.

There could be limited picks added.

But reasoning behind why SJ would take Ellis, SJ will need to reach cap floor to be complaint. Ellis expires around the same time SJ is hopefully turning it around. I don't expect SJ to be huge players in the UFA -> Flip Market just because they don't have retention slots to faciliate deals, and SJ won't be a super appealing place rn to sign give there recent success, and I think the appetite to dump cap along with picks has severely dimished and will only continue to do so with cap's rise.

    R.I.P. Flyers. Wait'll next year.

As the best LhD in this draft, Zeev Buium will go in the top 10.

yea probably, it's a bit of a pipe dream of us having the chance to pick him. I'd probably be willing to trade up to do if he falls past 6/7. Not that it's likely or anythingbut he's the guy I want most.

Philadelphia will have 89 points if they win their last game. They need to beat Washington (who have 89 points and one more regulation win) in regulation, they need Detroit (who have 89 points) to lose their last game against Montreal in regulation, and they need Pittsburgh (who have 88 points and two more regulation wins) to lose their last game against the Islanders in regulation.

like I said, they can still get in. They just have to do their part and let the rest happen.
Don't think it's some huge ask for PIT to drop the game against NYI. It's not. 50/50 there. It's also not insane to think DET can drop their back to back away against MTL.

Only chance we take a waste of salary would be a contract like Weber (7 mil cap 1 mil actual salary) in this case sharks would be better off picking up a FA that can contribute, this is doing you guys a favor without getting anything in return, we won’t be doing that I promise you.

islanders clinched already, they don't need the game at all and Pittsburgh knows they need the win. It's all but over for the Flyers. And to think, two weeks ago we knew all we needed was just one win more win and a 7 game losing streak, we'd control our own destiny and be in with a win. What a ****in collapse.

If the Flyers pick 12th, I'd hope we go forwards since presumably Buium and even Yakemchuk will be gone by then, I have more faith that Catton or even Eiserman will be there at 12 than Buium, and trying to trade up for him would be risky because of how volatile the rankings are this year

Still have to pay his salary! Rather get someone who provides leadership and mentorship than a waste of actual dollars if we’re taking cap dumps it has to come with an incentive.

It remains to be seen, but the last month has been a sprint for them, I would be in favor of giving the guys some extra rest and maybe preventing a last game injury which we have seen happen several times over the years.

hard to rest guys in hockey. Only so many extra skaters.
Either way, there is no love lose between these two teams. I'm sure they are more than happy to send them home

I mean I do too tbh. Buium is just the guy I want most, I'd be willing to trade up if he falls past 6, even though top 10 pick trades are fairly uncommon. But I would feel really confident in the long term back end, mix of offense, elite skaters, pure hockey sense.

I think Catton has a fairly decent chance of being there at our pick. Eiserman I think goes top 10, I don't think NHL scouts will be as concerned about his flaws as others are, because the talent behind the flaws. He's moldable.

I want Buium, Yakemchuk I think he goes before our pick without a doubt because his size + right handed. Scouts eat that stuff up.

Don't know if I totally agree about Laughton. Flyers have been pretty clear they'll only trade Laughton if it's an "overpay", 1st + prospect is rumored ask, and they've been rumored to be offered a 1st + 2nd before. This is less than that imo. 1.) Top 16 Protection On Pick. 2.) I don't think Krebs has a ton of value at this point, I mean Zamula had more points than him in a good chunk less games. He's basically a reclamation project atp. I don't think Buffalo has the space for him to grow, and he's nearing the point where he's gonna have to start showing he can be a consistent top 9 producer, or he just won't be a valued part of any NHL teams future.

Ellis contract, I think they'd prefer too for flexibility but if it costs decently signifcant assets to do so then yea probably not.
