My first reaction to this proposal was to laugh.

My second is to say why didn't they throw in Larkin, Kane, Seider, and Raymond too.

2 top prospects, a 3rd/4th liner, and 2 x picks in the 15-22 range for an expensive LHD when the club already has the #6 pick in the 2021 draft on his 2nd year of his ELC after letting him develop in the AHL for 2 years.

Did I miss the 50% salary retention to get the return wanted?

If Edvinsson looked like **** you might have gotten some traction with this... He doesn't, though.

Not really interested in trading an absurd amount of futures to strengthen what's probably our strongest or 2nd strongest position going forward.

I mean, yeah, on value Columbus probably accepts, but get real. Is Larking going to be moved? Because that's equally likely.

He's the next captain and already the best defenseman the franchise has ever had. He'll be a Blue Jacket until he retires.

Love werenski but if we're doing a package like that we're big game hunting high end centers. Dude is good but he struggles to stay healthy.

Zach Werenski has missed well over 100 games in the past 5 seasons, He's not returning anywhere near an offer like that.

The Wings fans around here have largely figured out Werenski's staying.. There's no need to torment them further. They got the memo.

Similar to my other post this was just to get a feel for what Z would get in a trade if we are rebuilding. If not Detroit who else would be interested and what would they offer?

Maybe not yet. But we have no idea what a new GM might want to do. From our standpoint, yeah just use the team we have and make adjustments but that might not be what happens.

I think it's a bit of an overpay but not a bad basis... But the problem is just the player and the position we're in.

Another LHD is the last thing we need, even if he would be the best one we have. And while I'm not guaranteeing he'll be better and he has a ways to go, who's to say Edvinsson can't surpass him in a few years?
