I wouldn't trade mercer for any player on the flames in a 1v1. He's a top 6 winger n is 21 yo. Casey is one of the best dman prospects in the league right now n will b nhl ready in the next 2 yrs.

I like Mercer actually, but he's a long ways to go before he'd be a top 6 winger on a team looking to win the cup. Casey has some skills, but for the same reason he dropped in the draft, he's very small and not very physical. Ottawa has one of those in Brannstrom... The 2024 1st rounder is a solid piece, along with Mercer... But you'd have to build considerably on top of that to land the game's premeiere power forward.

And just because a runt like Casey is the same size as Hughes and putting up similar points in the minors doesn't make him the next Hughes.
