Jarnkrok is worth a 5th or 6th at most.

Bertuzzi would still be in Detroit for that offer.

And Matt Roy gets closer to 6 x $6,000,000 on the open market. And I doubt he has much interest in Toronto.

Guy - you never miss an opportunity to Debbie downer all things Leafs 😂. Talk about #rentfree; you’re always wrong yet you just keep spouting off; stupendous

It’ll be an interesting off season for sure; with Cowan & Minten both locks (imo) for roles in 25-26 (Cowan top 9 guaranteed) - what Tre & co. do in FA this summer may tell us a lot about their plans to extend Marner and/or JT.
I don’t see spots for both Domi & Bert long term; I prefer Bert’s skill set but Domi has impressed too and will come cheaper 🤷🏻

Bjugstad on his own with retention can probably get at least a 2nd, no reason for Arizona to take a cap dump for a 6th in that deal

No American player will ever sign in Canada, and every player has a connection to Detroit so they will match the offer and the player will go there instead according to him

Matthews, Q Hughes, Miller, Caufield, Hellebuyck, Boeser etc would all never sign deals with Canadian teams right @MoSeider53 ? Oh wait, they all did

Bertuzzi was never resigning with the Wings, no one wants to play for that dump - in your words.

Ah yes who cares about a top 3-5 player in the league who’s the greatest goal scorer of this generation. Who cares about the best goalie in the league. Who cares about a 100 point center. Who cares about a 40 goal winger

I could see a 3rd for him, as he is a good 30-40 point guy, but Edmonton is the wrong team imo.

He’s worth substantially more than a “5th or 6th”.

He’s a 15-20 goal scorer with 35-40 points and can play all 3 forward positions. Can anywhere in the lineup, anywhere from 1st to 4th line and still be productive. He’s defensively responsible and brings good speed. He’s loved by all his coaches for his versatility and work ethic. & he’s on a steal of a contract at $2.1M for 2 more seasons… that has value well beyond a “5th or a 6th”.

A late 2nd would be the start. Although I could see Toronto looking for a prospect around 21-23 years old for some more depth for call ups instead as their roster needs.

Leafs aren't signing any goalie for more than 1 year imo. Hildeby should be ready for 25-26 season and Woll should have the #1 spot. This will be a position the leafs can save cap on while having solid results.
