Not sure how you can say habs are close to being a playoff team?
32nd, 28th, 27th (current year) doesn’t scream playoff contender to me; maybe in 2-3 years. Plus they’re 8th in Atlantic right now; what 4 teams are they jumping over next year?

Yeah there's absolutely no way Washington trades Wilson for a miniature player. No way Wilson waives his 10 team NTC for Montreal either.

TB passes
A) cap space not available.
B) TB management even though he's had continuous minor injury loves the guy.
Plus TBs got enough money in Hedman and Sergachev on the left side and Cooper hates playing guys on his off hand side.

aight, quit the troll

Caufield has already beaten Wilson's career high of points and goals and is only 23

Its like saying MTL wouldn't trade Pezz for Coronato because he's "tougher and bigger"

There no gm in this league that would be stupid enough to refuse a trade for a 23 years old top 6 sniper for a aging grinder. Get real.

I take it when you say "aging grinder" you mean the 1st line RW who's one of the toughest players in the league?
The guy who makes room for his linemates and makes sure nobody messes with them.

Yeah you heard it right, Wilson is a 30 years old grinder who’s best year are behind. Wilson have had a great career but no gm would keep him if they where proposed a 23 years old sniper. Wilson might have 2-3 years left. Then he will on the decline and he might very well be declining extremely fast considering the style he played throughout is career. There absolutely no argument to be made about that. This is just silly. If both where 23 then the case would be totally different but with the current situation there no debate.

Caufield just had his best season as a Pro with 56 PTs THIS SEASON. He’s basically a bust. The Caps probably wouldn’t trade Suzdalev for him.

Congratulations this is the stupidest thing i heard today. Caufield is second in scoring from the 2019 great draft class, 5th in points.

The same draft class Connor McMichael so he is probably the biggest bust in NHL history by your standard.

Nice try captain troll

The likelihood that the Capitals trade Wilson alone for Caufield is about as good as the Habs making the Playoffs this season.
