Carolina is confused - they probably would have accepted to discuss a trade with KH.

Necas is confused, signed the OS without reading the name of the team.

The whole thing is a fiasco.

I hope we don't go back into Offer Sheet cold war mode. We will have so many more players to resign in the next 3 years, just tons of opportunities for another team to exploit. We have to treat everyone kindly.

100% if they have the cap... which they probably will.

I wouldn't offer Necas more than 5.5 mil, he is a career average 50 point player. At 25 he isn't gonna suddenly explode and start putting up 80+ points. We already have Slaf who in his 2nd year has already surpassed Necas 2nd and 3rd years point totals and may very well catch him this year

      You won the offersheet war.

Kotkaniemi stinks. You just wasted it on Dvorak instead of doing a mini rebuild

You've seen how to do offersheets succesfully. If you offer term, it'll get snap matched. You have to drastically overpay for one year. Canes will match this. If you go north of 10 for a single year, they probably won't

Ahh so it's all downhill after 25 eh? That's an extremely puzzling statement because I can think of several guys whose best years are well after 25 Alex Killorn right off the top of my head IMO a perfect comparison had his best statistical production @ ages 30-33. Carter VERHAEGHE 26-28.

      Awwww man, this again?

I'd expect Carolina to counter by offer sheeting Slafkovsky.

And this would go the exact same way that the Aho and KK offersheet went with the Hurricanes ending up with both players

Think the Canes will bridge Jarvis and/or move KK before the Habs have a chance to try to offer sheet Necas. They would match anything they offer unless it's completely unreasonable.
