Draisaitl. Over the last three years he has produced at a higher rate, but even if you want to put that entirely on McDavid (as if Marner is playing with slouches), he's still a center and Marner isn't.

Draisaitl is better offensively, that's it. Marner plays a complete 200ft game, is a much, much better defender, and is a key piece to both the PP and PK units in Toronto. & the whole "$2.5mil less is gonna be absolutely blown away when Draisaitl makes more than Marner in a year.

The correct answer is that they're about equal in value BUT Marner is more important to Toronto than Draisaitl is to Edmonton.

It's not even close. Being better defensively is nice, but you know what matters more? Being better in the playoffs. Draisaitl has 21 more goals and 30 more points in 1 fewer playoff games. Leafs fans are the only ones who can't see what is obviously true lmao.
