Détails additionnels:
Anderson is just a guy I always wanted in a Bruins uniform. I don't think MTL would actually buy him out but who knows. could also see one day if MTL and Bos make a trade.

Habs aren't retaining 2.5 mil on Anderson and definitely not doing to only get back a 5th from the Bruins, up it to a 2ndand maybe they consider trading him to Boston without retention.

if he's bought out, sure. no interest in a three year commitment to anderson.

Anderson has negative value. surely you see that.

ya i would lean more towards if the Habs decided to cut their losses and buy him out i'd like to see Boston take a flyer on him.

I inherently despise Boston (just the team, not the city or the people lol), as is my requirement as a Habs fan, but in all honesty remove the retention and you can have him for FC lol there isn't a circumstance where we lock up a retention slot for that long and that much without an absolute haul coming back.

I believe Boston can do better than Anderson at $3m AAV over 4 years.

Anderson doesn't have negative value, surely you don't seriously think that just cause a player is signed to a bad deal by a previous GM that overpays him by like 1 maybe 1.5 mil and has a down season makes him a negative asset. It's like Coyle in 2021, he had a 16 point season on a 5.25 mil contract but that didn't cause the Bruins to think his value was negative, sometimes players have bad years and all you can do is ride it out and hope the player turns it around, the Habs don't need to worry about Anderson's caphit and can wait it out, if the Bruins want to acquire him they still need to pay to do so.

ya, that's all kind of ridiculous.
First off, lets not make it out like that 16 point season was a full season. that was one of the shortened years. was it 54 games? Still, 16 is bad, and he was ABSOLUTELY negative value. Everyone in boston acknowledged that the contract looked really bad for what appeared to be a defensive bottom six center. He turned his game around considerably from an offensive perspective, and honestly I still think a lot of teams would be pretty wary of that contract.

On the other side of the coin, Anderson doesn't have an outlier down season, he's been consistently underperforming his contract ever since setting foot in montreal. high of 32 points is it? not really a well rounded game. nobody wants him, or else montreal would have already moved him.

LOL, I knew you were going to bring up the fact that it was a shortened season, like that had any bearing on his performance. 16 points in 51 GP is horrible no matter what way you look at it, that being said Coyle did do a great job at bouncing back, so kudos to him.

Anderson was never a points producer and wasn't signed to be one, he was signed to score 20+ goals a season and has pretty much done so in every season in Montreal (17, 19, 21 and 8) except this year. Players have different skill sets and trying to demean one whose primary skill is scoring because he doesn't put up a ton of assists is just plain stupid. Should we all start piling on Grzelcyk or Carlo cause they don't put up 30 points a year? No cause that's not what they are paid to do, they are defensive D men not PMD, Anderson is paid to score and be a physical presence and until this year he was doing that, this year he hasn't been scoring but is still doing everything else. Reports are teams have called about Anderson but it was Hughes and company who turned them away. Fans might not like him cause he isn't flashy or isn't a high points producer but GM's love him cause he can score and has size and speed.

did you just not read my post? I said it was really bad, and that his contract was negative value. if you're going to respond to my posts at least read them.

I've never understood the infatuation that people have for Josh Anderson. He's played 82 games once in his career. Guy was being hyped up as the next wave of star power forwards because of one good season.
