Jackets pass. If that’s all MTL is willing to throw to KJ, CBJ match that in a heartbeat.

With KJ, Marchenko, Fantilli, Jiricek, Voronkov, etc. all hitting their rookie years at about the same time, the idea is in the next “year or two” CBJ start gelling. Unless you are willing to toss us an unprotected 1st, MTL doesn’t really have any realistically interesting assets that fit CBJ.

Why would the Canes even consider that?

Must we do this every week? CBJ and MTL aren't good trade partners, we both have fully-stocked prospect cupboards and are both looking for dynamic young wingers with elite potential. We both need quality over quantity. If someone sent you the same offer for Slaf, would you consider it?

FWIW, Slaf is younger and likely the better player in the long run, but the point is neither player would be trading their top winger prospect for more futures when they're both looking to compete within the next 2 years.

while that is good value for kent, I'd rather keep him. enough moving back, we have enough prospects, it's time to start progressing forwards
