Description
I know value will be off on trades no ones gets the value right on the first go. Moving schief is letting barzal play line 1 with ehlers. I feel those 2 with that speed being able to create space for connor could be one of the best lines in the league. return for schief is hard because you have to have him for 8 years but hes a big 2c upgrade for the canes. im a big jarvis fan and getting chazs brother would be nice. Mcgroartys value is at an all time high after the wjc and he would fit the islanders. schmidt is a cap dump not sure if islanders would want schmidt so 2 seconds would work. 3 million for a 4th liner is not something i like so got rid of iaffalo. appleton is getting a bad rap in winnipeg and putting barlow on that line would be lethal. this is basically my ideal jets roster i would make in nhl 24 because they would be fun to watch.

Lou said Isles aren't selling and the value isn't even there anyway. Rutger is good, but this is basically just Rutger and a 2nd. Unless Nate Schmidt is good again and I haven't realized, I've seen him as well overpaid since he got that contract

Canes weren’t biting on Sheifele before he signed that extension, they sure as hell aren’t now that he signed it. Canes also aren’t moving Jarvis either.

everyone knows lou needs to sell a little. I couldve just did the schmidt deal in another trade. After i posted it i realized a first would be better then a second and maybe a late pick. That would atleast get them interested. this is just a ideal lineup

I think CHI would be interested. I have a feeling he is someone who could do well on the Hawks and be flippable at next years TDL.

I agree. This is a player that would make sense.

Why does Lou need to sell? And selling doesn’t mean moving your mid 20s star forward that’s full scorched earth. And even if Lou wanted to completely blow this team up that’s not close to a serious offer for Barzal

this is barzals first time being above ppg since his rookie year. 2 2nds and a A level prospect would be enough to negotiate. islanders have one of the worst prospect pools in the league and this could be a step in the right direction. all though i would change one of the secconds for first

A step in the right direction isn’t selling your 26yo star player who’s locked up long term for a couple of unknowns, that’s horrifically bad business. You mention his point totals and while there are a few factors as to why that’s a bad analysis point he’s always been significantly more dynamic and impactful than his point totals suggest.
