Ducks say no. They need prolific scoring forward prospects not d depth. Beyond the fact that LeBrun confirmed that they’re not shopping him, just listening to team who heard fat Seravelli’s rumors and checked in on the rumor. Unless they get something outrageous he’s likely not getting moved because he’s exactly what they lack in depth.

Reinbacher has never played a professional hockey game in North America. Montreal adds the Winnipeg or Calgary first.

Terrible take. Zegras has 200 NHL games on his resume already, including back-to-back 60-point-plus seasons, and no one believes that Reinbacher has a higher ceiling than Zegras.

Yes, Lebrun confirmed they aren’t shopping him. But coming to the table with a Reinbacher offer would at the every least pique interest. I’m not convinced it’d be enough to trigger pull, but it’s at least close, and it very well might be enough. Really depends on how PV perceives these two (and possibly Levshunov). I think there’d probably need to be one more meaningful piece on MTL’s side to incentivize ANA to trade a player they don’t want/need to trade

One too many potential's. Zegras is already a proven top l ine winger and already an All-Star.

Wow. I'm shocked the NHL would put their golden boy in the All-Star game.

You should cite his EA cover too!

Replace Reinbacher with Sergachev, and Zegras with Drouin, and you’re comment has a 100% success rate at giving Habs fans ptsd…

At the time they were traded, Sergachev had 117 games in the OHL and 4 games in the NHL; Reinbacher has none of either and has never played in North America.
At the time they were traded, Drouin had played in 164 NHL games and recorded 95 points; Zegras is the same age and has played in 200 NHL games with 146 points.
But you're absolutely right: the Drouin-Sergachev mistake is exactly why Habs fans find it impossible to understand a Zegras-Reinbacher exchange. That's fine -- it'll never happen.

Fun fact: The three seasons Drouin spent in Tampa, there were 24 PPG players combined.

There were 37 PPG players in the NHL last season alone.

More fun facts: Drouin was traded after his D+4 season, where he was 73rd in the NHL in production.

Last year, Zegras played his D+4 season, where he was 75th in the NHL in production.

I see what you mean. No similarity here. How unedumucated am I?!

You've conveniently omitted Drouin's 14pts in 17games playoff performance he had under his belt. I remember everyone at the time raving that MTL finally got an elite forward who could show up in the playoffs. You can definitely argue Drouin's amazing playoff performance held substantial value at the time over Zegras current season success.
