We know they do. They don't have a good trade history so that would make sense.

I can't see Seattle doing this.

Borgen has developed into a reasonable defenseman whom you are going to play with your #1 defender and has played in the Kraken's last 139 games (at least). Timmins is a dubious asset who has gotten into only 16 games this season and the third and fifth are even more speculative. This doesn't seem close to me.

I like the idea, both players would bring great roles and add a more physical identity to the leafs but you'd have to add more to each package to get both these guys

lets hear this one. what history?

lets look at this trade AZ would get - undersized W not in top 10 of TML pool (which is amongst the worst), an undersized oft injured skilled W (get in line behind keller, schmaltz, maccelli, guenther, carcone) really isnt that great need for AZ. AZ gives up 23yo physical C (by far their worst position at NHL and in pool) penciled in as 3C for long time and a 3rd next year. Yeah that is a laugh arse off and hang up

Mcbain would help the leafs more than texier. Guy flies around out there and will hit and fight anybody.

You just said a lot of nothing lmao. Robertson is a lot better than McBain if you would just watch both of the players it's obvious that Robertson is more skilled and has more points. McBain will never be a center on the third line as he has a 43% faceoff win percentage. Yes, McBain can still get a few points but was never a scorer. Robertson is already playing on the 3rd line and is scoring more points in fewer games than McBain and with more takeaways in fewer minutes. His potential is far better than McBain but yet again you're telling me he's not lmao. Robertson is already better and he played 50 games less than McBain in his entire NHL career.

The entire point is we don’t need an undersized skilled 3LW, he’ll never progress and pass Keller, Maccelli, or Crouse. We also have plenty like him in the pipeline already. What we don’t have is a physical bottom 6 C who can produce and hit, which is exactly why you’re trying to make this trade in the first place, you don’t have it either and you do have other skilled undersized wings.

Great point but you guys are still in last place. You guys already have crouse, Bjugstad and o Brian. All physical guys but can’t shoot. You guys have a lot of young players who still need time to develop. Maple leafs don’t need a 3rd center we’re just gonna use him as a winger if anything. Robertson can still be better than Maccelli. I think it’s still too soon to shut the door on Robertson as he’s shown a lot of progress this year. He could play a lot better for you guys as there is less pressure.

Crouse currently has 20 goals, Bjugy is there for his two way play and mentorship of McBain so he turns into a better version of him, and O’Brien just sucks, he won’t be back. I like Robertson the player, I just don’t think there’s a fit or need at all. Could he be better than Maccelli? I mean anything’s possible, but celli looks like he could be one of the top passers in the league on a lot of nights, no sense stunting that development for a different project. Chicago seems a more natural fit for Nick, they’ll give him top 6 minutes, have 2nds to burn, and you can flip that for a different forward or tanev.

im not saying mcbain is better scorer at all - he is a physical (led F last year in hits in the whole NHL) and is PK and a C (AZ weakest position) - roberstson fills same role as half their F group he is redundant for the yotes (not saying he isnt valuable but cant have a whole F group that is the same). mcbain and crouse are only physical F they have - and yeah if AZ gets some true Cs he will prolly move to wing but for now they dont have any so thats where hes playing.

ah the classic "this guy is so much better than the guy I'm trading for!" CF logic.

Robertson isn't a bad player but he has an injury history longer than your average CVS receipt. MIettinen is another 5'9" winger who's not rated all that well in a pretty bad prospect system and has to be considered to be a risk to not sign, considering he's a college senior only a few months from becoming a UFA.

McBain might not score as much as Robertson, but that's not necessarily his job. He's a 6'3" 3rd liner who won't kill you at C and hits anything that moves, and holds his own on the PK as well. He's still young enough to be an important role player moving forward, so there's really no impetus for the Coyotes to trade him - meaning you'd probably have to overpay to get him out of the desert. This doesn't count as an overpay in my eyes.

my dude you're a Leafs fan, your team has a grand total of one (1) playoff series win since the lockout season, you literally do not have a leg to stand on.
