Every GM in the league will take 17 goals (all or almost all at 5 v 5) for $2.1M per. Throw in defensively responsible, plays PK, able to move up the lineup if needed - he’s the exact opposite of a cap dump.

The Penguins do not have a need for Järnkrok, and are focused on retaining and acquiring draft picks.

He is on pace for 12.5 goals 5v5 and his goals per 60 is 55th percentile in the NHL among forwards with 500+ min.

He has 65 min on the PK and has an expected goals against per 60 of 7.1 4v5 which is 48th percentile in the NHL among forwards with at least 45 minutes.

He has an expected goals against per 60 (5v5) of 2.72 which is 28th percentile among NHL forwards with 500+ minutes.

Now at 2.1MM he probably isn't a cap dump per se but he most certainly isn't a goal scorer and he is pretty bad defensively.

JT if not playing center is definitely LW on the first or second line. The guys a long the boards play winning battles for the puck is the best on the team.

Leafs don't have to move cap, and their cap situation is even better next season. Sorry, moving a value 2.1m Jarnkrok isn't a cap dump since he would have to be replaced by a another player.

Well no. Again you mentioned his defensive ability which is statically poor. Also he has 46 games of 12 min per at 5v5. Extrapolating that to 82 games means 996 minutes 5v5. Meaning he has 7 goals in 56% of his minutes. Which translates to a pace of 12.5 goals. I don't know where you're getting 17. Unless Moneypuck is wrong about 7 goals in 559 minutes in 46 games 5v5.

So, no I don't support trading a 2nd for a guy who is bottom 75% in defense and on pace for 12.5 goals 5v5.

He starts 7.6% of the time in the defensive zone (2nd lowest on Tor and 13th percentile). I guess his coaches don't want him in the defensive zone.

He has a 50% corsi is again 2nd worst on Tor

His on ice high danger shots against per 60 is 3.43 which is again 2nd worst on Tor and in the 11th percentile.

Tkachuk forced Tres hands, he wasn't re-signing in CGY. The only thing he could do was trade him and got a top pairing defensemen in Weegar (who would be what this Leafs team needs). Remember that time when Dubas said no to a trade that had Johnson and Dermott going to FLA for Weegar

Don't know if watch any hockey teams but your own, but a 35 point player who is a plus player when is plays mostly 3rd line at 2.1m isn't a cap dump at all.
