True but if that breaks the deal I'm not that high on Evans anyway and not at that price for a 4C. Take it or leave it as far as I'd be concerned with MTL.

Evans would be a fine 4C. The cost is mainly to move on from Johansen, which needs to happen soon imo.

If they get Frost, then who cares if Evans makes 1.8M (still sub 4M combined for 2C/4C). Like I said above, I didn't really think it would make much difference.

I accept that deal for Evans without retention. Habs have already used 2 of their 3 retention slots.

You were probably an Avs fancalling for Sakic head when he traded untouchable prospect Justin Barron & a 2nd round pick for Lehky ? Evans is a good player, a future 2nd round pick is meaningless if Avs get better right now

To the habs you would need to upgrade the 2nd to a 1st.
