Asking for young guys already playing in the NHL and a 1st don't think it will happen. I'd say from Canucks Raty and a 1st and maybe Kuzmenko as salary going back. Hoglander only gets moved if it's for a top 6 young power forward that has term.

Good luck with getting any of those packages for a rental that has 2 goals in the last 25 games.

They appear like rather aggressive offers to me (not a fan of any of these teams).
But the top-6 center market is super thin....so who knows.

And I think they are overrating Raty as a comp a little (which leads to higher prospects being used)

Wheeler is a moron, but otherwise, I find their hockey coverage pretty solid.

They have a bunch of good writers there

And its useful to follow what other teams are doing/thinking.

Sometimes he is good...at least he has a process that seems reasonable.
Pronman talks to scouts...and comes up with his ratings from a composite of what scouts are telling him.
              (Kind of like McKenzie poll)

Wheeler pretends he is the scout and makes up his own assessments...and shows his bias for certain players, leagues, etc.

Pronman is lazy. His prospect ranking are just looking at draft position without any real analysis.
Just like this trade, he took one comp where Horvat had 31 goals when traded. Lindholm has 9
From a Boston perspective, Poitras is in nhl, Raty wasn’t. Fredrick is better than Beauvillier and worth his contract.
Lindholms next contract will start at 30, Horvat was at 28
              It’s a poor comp really.
I cancelled it when their player card said grzelcyk was a $8 million defenseman last year

Ehh Pronman's trade packages for Lindholm are ridiculous I mean c'mon Frederic, Poitras, and a 1st for Lindholm... he has to be on drugs.

His prospect pool rankings also just seem to be based on where guys were drafted with very little emphasis on how guys are actually developing... consistently ranks Boston last in terms of prospects despite having quite a few really good pieces in Lysell, Poitras, Merkulov, and Lohrei

The Fredrick part is hilarious. If Boston traded him they would want the Jeannot return based on last years comps.

Yeah, I think some saw Raty as some elite prospect. Most of the guys they use here are much more appealing.

I think Merkulov would probably be closer to Raty. Maybe Damiani from Dallas.

Remove Kuzmenko and trade Podz along with Hoglander and Canuck’s first round pick.
              Does that work?

Right - Pronman is just so off base and out of his depth when it comes to any type of comparable. Does he actually think

              Frederic = Beauvillier
              Poitras = Raty

Freddy has a bright future in the league, has turned the corner with offensive production this year and Beau is a fringe NHLer. Freddy is better than Jeannot.
Poitras is younger and already has played in more NHL games than Raty.

Like I said Pronman is a clown.

I have issues with many prospect writers/list makers.

But for this trade…I think using Horvat as a comp is probably in the ballpark. He just whiffed on who Raty was at time of trade and overstated the prospect side.

I think the Horvat comp would be: Merkulov, DeBrusk, 1st

Also how in the world would lindholm with his current play be worth the same as what Horvat got having a far superior season? I really think he’ll go for just a first and a solid prospect maybe an additional pick to dump a contract

I agree on Merkulov being comparable as a prospect to Raty last year, but still think Debrusk is miles ahead of Beau in terms of value. Not really sure who else on the roster is comparable to Beau... IMO its closer to Lauko, Merk, and a 1st

You can't use Horvat as a comp when Lindholm's closest season is 2 seasons ago and as mentioned has 2 goals in 25 games and is on pace for a worst production that LoC. On top of LOC, the Avs are adding one of the chl's top players and a 1st... I hope not

I think a 1st is mandatory in any Lindholm deal. The prospect value might vary on a couple factors like if there is a solid chance of resigning longterm or not. The roster player going back probably won't be any one of value so a bunch of the guys mentioned are for sure not being included IMO. Frederic, O'Connor, for example.

Wheeler is a moron, but otherwise, I find their hockey coverage pretty solid.

They have a bunch of good writers there

And its useful to follow what other teams are doing/thinking.

they took the Avs' beat writer and gave him to you to have another in New York/NJ. One of the stanley cup teams last season did not have a beat writer. I loved the athletic when someone actually knows your team, but a lot of teams don't anymore. We are getting written about by Jesse Granger, who is good! but has zero idea what the actual lines we play are. Like the suggestions are straight up not even what the Avs are posting pregame. It's getting comedic.

I beg anyone to look at Logan O'Connor's contract and stats for this season, compare it to Lindholm's, and see if this for real or not. Pretty obvious Pronman and Mckenzie didn't.

If it was Lindholm 2 years ago, coming from a 40G, 80P season with a $4.95M cap-hit for 2 more years, then yes the Flames could've gotten that and more.

I think that the return would be a lot less appealing, than what the athletic estimates.
