Room For Greatness
Hertls contract bought his trade value down massively and Buchnevich is on an affordable deal without term I would guess that Armstrong turned down better offers than this at the TDL

protect the cap, find centers.</div></div>
Signing Reinhart isn’t a realistic possibility for the Bruins and the panthers will probably end up extending him IMO but I just wanted to see what the cap would look like with him on the books

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>You also probably want $3M of his salary removed to be expiring contracts or you are going to be in situation like Tampa Bay with Stamkos in the 2025 offseason with Marchand.
That’s one of the primary reasons why I am in zero rush to trade Ullmark. His expiring salary slot is about perfect to manage the expected increases with Geekie and Frederic.</div></div>
I don’t expect Marchand to get a raise on his next deal I feel like he takes a discount and I don’t believe Geekie is a guaranteed extension I want to see what he looks like next year and Frederic shouldn’t cost too much more than his current cap hit

Vatrano is not a top 6 wing he’s a 3rd line triggerman he’s not worth a first or Lysell alone nevermind both of them
It’s probably Casey or a 2nd for Ullmark instead of both

Winning Celebrini and trading Norris
You want us to pay a 1st+2nd IN ADDITION to giving up one of the leagues best Defensive Dmen in exchange for a future buyout contract
I thought unhinged Sens fans peaked in the summer when they decided it was a foregone conclusion they were making the playoffs and Boston was missing out

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>I’d rather have Lindholm than Marchessault. The worry about Elias is the end years and we are knowingly investing in the end years of Marchessault. I get the trade off, but put Elias between Zacha and Pasta … and I feel his production returns.
To me, the question should be Jake vs Elias.</div></div>
If Lindholm continues to struggle into the playoffs with Vancouver I feel like his cap hit could come down enough to possibly afford both if Ullmark is also traded

Sell at the deadline and be ready in the offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>ya, so that's kind of revisionist history in a major major way. i'll cut you some slack on lindholm, because the guy couldn't skate. broken feet aren't fun and it showed in that series.
other than that i think this is some doomsday nonsense with a smidge of some cherry picked line that felger cherry picked from some other guy, who just throws out buzzwords.</div></div>
Watch the series again Carlo was the only good defenseman the entire time. I share your optimism that the Bruins are cup contenders this season I just believe the Dcore needs the most improvement outside of getting a 1C but that won’t happen this trade deadline.

Sell at the deadline and be ready in the offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>those are all top six players. what you might have an argument for is there not being enough first line players and them basically having four second liners in their top six. that being said, frederic is playing like a first line guy right now. he's kind of being slotted into the jack of all trades role. They're going to have to trot out a second line center on the top line out of necessity, but given how strong their blue line and goaltending is, I don't think that even starts the discussion of knocking them out of contender status. Afterall, they are second in the league in points.
Another thing to point out is that there is a pretty big emphasis placed on style of play and culture in boston. it's one of the reasons they're so good. so while some might say, "Charlie Coyle as a first line center, LOL," he might be a pretty good fit for boston. He's 29th among centers in the league in points, before going through and filtering out the guys listed as centers that are definitely wingers (looking at you stamkos), and in boston I think they want their top line center to be a guy they trust with tough matchups more so than just filling the net.
they aren't the runaway favorites like they were last year, but contenders? come on. of course they are. vegas, who tends to know what they're doing has them with the third strongest odds.</div></div>
I would be more worried about the Defensive core than the Top6. Florida proved last year that all they had to do was forecheck our Dmen aggressively and they’ll turn the puck over. McAvoy and Lindholm folded under heavy pressure in their own zone and became turnover machines. Which ever head coach we play against in the first round would be a moron not to exploit this.
